Hmm...I can think of a dozen other hobbies and interests that are waaay more expensive. High end audio. Vintage Music gear. Firearms. Classic car restoration. I know women who's handbags cost more than FPV gear - I mean cmon people, you are flying through the air, in real time, with first person view of YOUR WORLD. It's freakin amazing and to be alive at a time when this stuff is even possible and growing and improving by the month it's truly incredible. I'm thankful to be able to enjoy it every day.

Ever since I was a kid I knew this was possible, but just not practical or affordable for the average person at the time (80's). I didn't think technology would advance this quickly in this specific direction in time for me to be flying fpv using diversity link on the video and radio through urban spots. So worth it in my opinion. I have HDOs with FuriousFPVTrueD. Happy Flying!

So, I know this is a kind of old video, but this is the first one to actually explain to me why the RapidFire is popular, and explain some of the lingo I didn't previously understand (like the term "diversity"). On top of that, I got the bonus of some more "flowy" longer proximity flying as opposed to the super twitchy stuff I've been seeing a lot of lately (no disrespect to them, just doesn't capture me the way this did). In short, thanks for the video.

I live in the real world as well and what I describe is accurate as I can type. TrueD is diversity nothing more nothing less. Rapidfire is analog magic and allows for diversity if you want to do long range. Every aspect of the RapidFire is superior except the price point, which could be doubled and still worth its money.
@xtkfpv53066 жыл бұрын
I upgraded to this HDO setup with Rapid Fire module a few months ago, from fatshark v2 with LaForge module and was absolutely amazed how much better I could see and my flying improved 100% overnight. Why? My philosophy is that if you can't see well, you can't fly well. All goggles produce a decent image but it had always been hard for me to see details such as power lines, tiny scraggle, and even race gates off in the distance were not clear until I was almost up on them. The high definition screeens in the HDO's combined with the crystal sharp image from the Rapid Fire allows me to see everything clearly. Now I approach that tree gap with confidence knowing that there is no scraggle blocking the gap. I can see far off gates and gaps and get aligned with them from way back so there is no need for last minute adjustments, which results in a much smoother looking flow. Judging distance is always tough but with clear video it becomes so much easier to line up on a dive gap or find an escape route when things get hairy. Drib brings up a good point, the quad is the cheapest part of your gear but still if you are breaking motors, smoking ESC's, smashing your gopro, breaking arms etc, it can get expensive and mess up your fly day. If you are flying bando's or scraggly tree parks or even racing through gates, I think the money you spend on the goggles will pay it self off within the first year from not having to replace broken quad parts. It is not just a little better, it is a lot better.

Off subject but could you do a short video on how you end your turns please. I know all about stick coordinations and how to use them but just the way you end your turns are soooo locked and smooth. I think you are ending roll first and flattening out the turn with yaw but I can’t get it to end quite the same. I love the way the turn into turn back is almost robotic on the direction change. Maybe just go make some turns with stick over lay so I can slow-mo it? Lol.

I’m using the EV200D and aside from having to power them with a brick in my pocket (the barrel connector system doesn’t work any more) I’ve become accustomed to having good range. I just got new antennas (lollipops from Foxeer some stubby some short) and see your stubby lollipops are mounted straight out. I was planning on using the stubby ones on my copters and bending the short ones 90 degrees so they are sitting upright. I guess now I’ll have to try all possible combinations and see what works best. Winter sucks! Glad I got a Beta 75X at least I can get it in indoors if need be!

Sticking with my Attitude V4 with True D 3.7 due to perfect range and signal quality. Been using them for just over a year and they suit me. It’s a bit like using the Foxeer Box instead of GoPro. Some people can’t even use certain goggles due to head size, eye spacing etc. It’s what’s best for you and your budget.

And here I am with my Eachine EV800 box goggles, 1 antenna, and an ImmersionRC TrampHV VTX with a Foxier Stubby antenna on the quad, looks just as good if not better. The display is huge, and has built in OSD; 99$ CDN. I haven't had a need to upgrade, mostly because when someone tries to talk me into a set of HDO's or something, I simply can't justify the price. for something that offers literally no improvement in visual performance.
