If you don't understand why people like Orsillo, then nobody should be listening to anything you have to say about sports.

People associate Orsillo with a lot of good memories in franchise history. It’s less about him and more about the era he represents.

Don was pure, the people recognize that... it's especially nostalgic w/ how corrupt and disingenuous the world is today

Do you think Mazz trims Felgers rose bushes and mows his lawn every weekend? What a kiss ass. 😂

Def Mazz does, he’s also a gentleman enough to leave some for Big Jim as well🤣

Fans consider the team's play by play guy as almost a member of the team. This is not new. Mel Allen = Yankees. Vin Scully - Dodgers. Bob Prince was probably bigger than most of the Pirates in the 1950s. When that play by play guy was on duty during a particularly successful stretch he will be remembered fondly.

Felger: days that end in “y”

Felger has always disliked Orsillo, and if I remember correctly was very excited when Whistles McGee took over. He says it right here. He didn't like the grab-ass between Orsillo and Remy, when that is exactly why fans loved him. He didn't have a stick up his ass like O'brien, and Jimmy is 100% right that you can't point to any memorable O'brien moments. Also, don't understand why Felger keeps referring to Orsillo as a bot. Sure, he has a somewhat stereotypical broadcaster voice, but the guy actually had a personality and could have a laugh during the game, even at himself a lot of the times. That's what counts. It's even more rich when he says the broadcasts suck now, and has also been bemoaning the loss of guys like Jack Edwards and Mike Gorman, and likely being replaced by "bots", or guys like Dave O'Brien to be more specific. For some reason, though, when it comes to Orsillo, Felger just never appreciated what he brought to the table.

Orsillio & remy were excellent. I never listen to weei or sports hub. You guys are all about yourselves and promoting yourselves. I LISTEN TO MLB RADIO. THOSE GUYS TALK BASEBALL AND DON’T HAVE TO RESORT TO SLAMMING PLAYERS AND CHEAP SHOTS. THAT’S BECAUSE THEY KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT BASEBALL AND ARE ACTUALLY INTERESTING AND HAVE GREAT INFO.

Well , of course Felger has no clue about what its like to be beloved by Boston. Maz is a blowhard. I get the show is shtick. But honestly stopped watching long ago

Boston sports media ... absolute clown show . It's like a soap opera. Pitching like a bunch of women .

For all the reasons Felger irritates me, this clip showed the biggest one. Nothing to do with Orsillo. Beginning the clip, Felger said he didn't watch the weekend of Sox games. Does he ever watch anything? This is a SPORTS show!! This is exactly why I always preferred Glenn Ordway. Yes, Glenn was a pseudo-homer. Yet, Glenn was quick to criticize a team. Witness his exit from the Celtics. The thing is, regardless of how much Glenn's affinity for a team was, HE WATCHED THE GAMES!!!
