Drake Maye Should Start for Patriots Week 1

If we switched out Mac jones for Maye last year I bet they would’ve won at least 8 games there was so many close games that Mac jones couldn’t finish, he would under throw or miss receivers. It also didn’t help that some receivers weren’t as talented. When the pocket would collapse Mac jones would just fall apart, meanwhile Maye just with his ability can easily make something happen, run or evade sacks

Mazz Chris from Holbrook here I called in and told you why he does not need to start week one. You guys were laughing saying yeah let Jacoby take the beating. I was being serious though, but that schedule I don’t wanna see Drake getting sacked five times a game. Let’s use next draft to make the line better. Let him have a full season of practicing with one of the best defenses in the league. So he is primed and ready for next season.

Why does it matter who a guy sits behind in determining whether the decision to wait on a young QB worked? The benefit is the development of the younger player, which will happen whether it’s Aaron Rodgers, Alex Smith, or Mac Jones in front of them.

The benefit of sitting is to learn the playbook, get accustom to the pro-lifestyle, body maturity, feeling less pressure with so much going around. Just imagine if Bryce Young sat last year. There be less outside criticism that he shouldn't be the #1 pick. But that doesn't affect Young growth. If Young is an elite talent, it will eventually show. Starting or sitting wouldn't matter. The only thing that can hurt an elite players is injury.

If Maye takes off during training camp and outplays brissett he has every right to start, why are you gonna hold him back because your too scared because of what happened with Mac jones. Maye is far superior than Mac jones

I’m very optimistic about the patriots going forward. As good as a head coach belichick was he was that bad as a general manager. This was the 1st draft in 24 years I wasn’t scratching my head asking why they took some nobody that was a nobody. I’m confident in this coaching staff. There’s not going to be another Brady. But the defense looks solid & the running game will keep it close. No need to rush drake maye. He’ll play when he’s ready & not a moment too soon

I don't think it matter is they sit or play, it's the player. Patrick Mahomes would still be Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Roger would still be Aaron Rogers, Josh Allen would still be Josh Allen, Trey Lance, Dwayne Haskins, Paxton Lynch, Johnny Manziel, Jake Locker, Brady Quinn, Jamarcus Russell, Jason Campbell, Rex Grossman would have all ended the same if they played right away.

Let Brissett play, and play through any bumps in the road. Maye needs to develop before being exposed to NFL speed, and watching Brissett is the way. If Maye gets 200 snaps this year, that's a win regardless of the Pats record. There are no playoffs this year, so development of talent is the measurement of a good season or not.

They are ranked 30th coming into the season. Fix the line and establish a ground attack. No high paid free agent WR has ever won a Superbowl. WRs are overvalued for what they contribute.
