I'm a pilot. You will still need a pilot license to fly your car, and the car needs an avionics package . With small aircraft's weather is a big problem. You need de icers on your wings and props. Also, an IFR rating would help a lot. You will probably be limited on your airspace. You can fly in, too.

I still prefer a purpose built automobile and a purpose built aircraft with all the licenses. I do like the idea, but I can't see them becoming common unless they can automate the human out of the equation safely. Even then. How many people will be killed by falling bits and vehicles that fail over head?

I always wanted to see flying cars! The Jetson's had it right ! Here we are on the verge of it being true, really showing my age! Just imagine how investigating collisions and having aerial police chases will go. Or how about a DWI stop? Of course who would drink and fly, right? This is a real hybrid car maybe it can also do water landings!! I look forward to looking out my window and seeing one go by. Of course nobody would land it on roadways.
