Are foreigners allowed to own land in Uganda? How to own land in Uganda as a foreigner.

The 1995 Constitution grants land ownership rights solely to citizens of Uganda. Foreigners cannot own land freehold. They may, however, obtain leases for 49 or 99 years. Foreign investors, individual or corporate, cannot acquire land for the purpose of crop or animal production. Foreigners can either rent/lease from citizens or from the Government.

I didn't know this.. I have heard of Chinese owning and holding titles (non lease) I don't know how true it is though..

Have you ever heard of 'citizenship by investment' In uganda it's 5,000 USD. Plus you can have 51percent stake(Ugandan) in a company and the rest can be shared by foreigner.

The price of leasing land depends on the location and of course the amount the owner wants thinks its worth.
