It's 30 amps max on these trailers. A/C running= 14 amps., Electric water heater= 9 amps, Microwave= 10.2 amps, space heating fireplace= 12 amps, coffee maker= 8 amps. ( I measured this on my new RV) You can see how quickly these add up. You should not exceed 80% of the 30 amp RV power ( That's only 24 amps). Kind of like blowing a home breaker when using a hair dryer on a shared circuit. The only way to "fix" this is to watch what you use at one time or purchase an RV with 50 amp service and hope the campground has 50 amp sites available.

Good video. We have a 2020 Wildwood X-lite 263BHXL which appears to be very similar to yours and it is made by Forest River. Not sure about the toilet or the fireplace yet but the thermostat in ours is not in the same spot and can be reached with slideout in. The electric hookup is on the driver's side and the fresh water is the opposite side and the city hookup is in the back. A couple of design flaws I have seen with ours is that the bed is in a place where your head is all the way in the front of the RV where it is rounded which makes it a little tricky sitting up in bed. It is very minor but and not a huge deal. Another flaw which might be with a lot of other RV's is that is once you are hooked up you are unable to open the tailgate of the tow vehicle all the way because it hits the jack.

Great video! I have a Greywolf 23 MK (2020) black label edition. First) The automatic fireplace/microwave died on me after first trip. I troubleshot it myself and got w/ the manufacturer of the unit (actually the replacement part is still sitting next to me - a "EM-15" by WFCO for nearly a year now). This basically allows for 13.5 amps to pull from one device before it prefers the second. (Microwave had a preference over the fireplace). I simply took this out and put in a junction box and tied the two lines together with a wire nut - solved in < $5 parts from any big box store. Now the risk with this is simply if you go above 15 amps (the breaker) then you trip the breaker. So if we run the microwave and fireplace at the same time - we risk tripping the breaker - which is literally within arms reach of the Microwave and fireplace - and you'd just flip it off then back on and realize what you did. Super simple fix. (Note: the fireplace on 'low' or 'light only' + microwave never trips it. Only when on high heat and microwave on as well.) Second) Had the dometic 300 toilet issue as well, Dometic replaced it- and offered an upgrade to porcelain cheap ($50-75) to the Dometic 310. Went that way and haven't had the issue. The Porcelain is a million times better. Third) I wouldn't worry too much about the power outlet being below the water line entry. In reality that is a waterproof/resistant casing and has to be for weather/rain anyway. So relatively moot. Overall - I know the Greywolf isn't the same quality as some of the higher units, but there are also much worse units out there and for the price they were 'good enough' for me. I'm overall pleased with my purchase and I've read online and seen many KZbin videos that show all brands (regardless of price) suffer from similar scenarios.

That electrical issue with fireplace/microwave looks like a real pain. My wife and I just picked up a 2021 Forest River Alpha Wolf 26RL-L last week and camped at Virginia Beach. I had found out when researching the coach you couldn’t run the fireplace & microwave at the same time. But they do have a exposed switch for this rather than the hidden one you have. But I ended up getting a nice surprise. The unit I bought is set up for a second AC unit. This requires an upgrade from the standard 30 amp electric service to a 50 amp service. This extra capacity of a 50 amp service allows the fireplace & microwave to run at the same time. This came in really handy in the morning when I’d turn on the fireplace first thing and also make instant oatmeal in the microwave! This is my 4th trailer, all from different manufacturers. All had quality issues. RV’s are mass produced and in my opinion under engineered. You are doing the right thing in being open minded about learning as much as you can and fixing things yourself when possible. You guys have a nice down to earth attitude a fun demeanor and a beautiful family. Enjoy the kids while they’re young. They grow up fast. Camping is the best for quality family time. Keep it up!

I've seen this stated before about being prepared to be handy. And I agree with this in broad strokes. But, this is starting to set a precedent that, in essence, is giving a lot of these manufacturers a pass on being accountable for substandard build quality. The heat needs to be turned up on these manufacturers for reinvesting their inflated profits into building a legacy of reliable production.

Some of these problems are the same as our camper. No room to sit up in the top bunk, no room to get dressed in the bedroom unless you lay on the bed. We put a TV mount swing arm on our TV so it's not a neck breaker. One issue we have that that you might not have is the airflow in the bottom bunk. Ours has a tip out window, so the air does not get in. We installed a portable battery operated fan in there. Our camper is a Springdale Summerland 28 BH SS. Greatt video as always 👍👍

We had a number of problems with our Coachmen TT. Many of the issues were caused - but not acknowledged - by a dealer in Tulsa Oklahoma. We called Forrest River but they ignored nearly all of the complaints. Wiring was wrong in some areas, the stabilizers were damaged; the dip rail on the street side was damaged; We sent a power point with the pictures to the dealer who was worthless and Forest River was minimal. I have read reviews of bent (cheap) frames, bad awning motors, horrible fit-up of interior parts, cheap components and and time bombs on the axles. Tires are the first thing you need to replace and get reliable load ratings. If they are 14 inch - you are screwed since there isn't much availble in that size. The underbelly insulation? Ours pulled loose while driving down the road, due to a lack of adequate attachment and support. I spent three hours in an rv campground .make repairs. Since it was the front corner that tore loose, I could look to the back and see that there was zero underbelly insulation - anywhere. I just discovered this last trip where the gas smell was coming from the past three years. I had sprayed soapy water mutliple times but never could see what hose or fitting was leaking propane. My was helped this time and when some of the mix rain down on the propane bottle itself she notice little bubbles - from the weld on the tank. The cheap Chinese made propane tank had pinholes in the weld and was leaking gas - enough to create a very dangerous accumulation in the tank cover. The distributor couldn't care less and said the dealer had to handle it (the dealer that didn't care about anyone once they got the money.) I would never buy another Coachmen Manufacturing, cheap components or dealer - they are all the same. Leave the lot and it is your problem.

I never realized we have basically the same rv! Mine is a 2014 grey wolf 26dbh and I love mine! Our thermostat is on the wall between the bathroom and pantry, so that isn't an issue. But the carbon monoxide alarm is located under the ladder and my kids constantly stepped on it when climbing up/down until it finally broke off 😩 I also wish our u shaped dinette came with built in drawers, or even just an access door! I know some other similar/newer models do, but we have to take all the cushions off our seats and lift up a heavy board to access ours and it's too much of a pain in the butt so we just usually don't put anything there. Eventually I'll talk my husband into building drawers there so my kids can put their clothes in it and we will have more storage space.

I just got a 2022 Vengeance Rogue 26VKS in November and found so many issues with the workmanship is very poor. I'm a mechanic by trade and I'm still correcting many issues. It's just too time consuming and fuel cost to drive for warranty repair. Wires loose all over the place, fuel lines are resting on the self tapping screws. Kitchen counter has several screws that have screws that almost went through the counter, that I will have them fix. These things are built to move at very little cost with the hopes that customer won't notice. We got this model cause it's what we was looking for and I will say unit is nice. I am however doing a full inspection before my first trio with it.

Eli and Fawn, thank you for addressing this. I just bought a brand new Forest River Salem and the build quality and material quality are horrific...and by horrific I mean the roof actually separating from the trailer in two different locations and the tin sidewall separating from the trailer...creating gaping water intrusion points. I have had 4 water lines break at the PEX connection points causing water to flood across my floors, I have experienced multiple electrical short circuits, a dinette slide that continues to fall apart, both tank straps broke on the gray and black tank, a bottom-of-the-line Dometic refrigerator that is either warm (food spoils) or everything freezes solid with no way to adjust the temp. On the interior, I've had all but one of my pantry shelves collapse, both interior doors are mounted visibly crooked, all the drawer pulls are mounted visibly crooked, and fiberglass insulation hanging out of huge holes in the wall under the sink and and all the places you wouldn't normally look. I'm not a rich guy. I worked extremely hard to buy this travel trailer and it has been a massive let down. Trying to get warranty service has proved impossible. The local dealer was backed up for months and months. I shopped around for another servicing dealer and this interaction sums it up - Service writer: "Did you buy this trailer with a salvage certificate?" Me: "No Ma'am, this is a brand new travel trailer." I will never, ever buy another Forest River product.

I would not move your thermostat. They are positioned on an interior wall so that they are not impacted by outside conditions and more accurately reflect the inside conditions. I am sure under most conditions of use the slide-out is open such that you can gain access. The other thing I do is look through the window on the side of the slide-out to check the thermostat off before travel. Not sure if you have a window in that area of your trailer.

The toilet issue is GROSS. But Dometic is used by basically ALL manufacturers, so the toilet issue could affect any RV that sources from Dometic. That's nothing to do with Grey Wolf. Forest River is basically a holding company owned by Warren Buffet. It's headquarters is just too far from the factory to make this better. Rockwood is built same as Flagstaff but not built the same as Grey Wolf; and Wulf Pup is not built the same as Salem but Salem is built same as Wildwood. Each of the brands have their own factories. Forest River just oversees the money. If Forest River opts to starve Grey Wolf of funding, well yea you can blame Forest River beancounters; otherwise, it's really each brand for themself. Each brand's factory does its own thing with many of the same parts and processes. I've watched a TON of factory tours and there's a lot of similarities. Cherokee / Grey Wolf has a huge RV factory in Elkhart, so they can churn out the most units. That's why Grey Wolfs & Wulf Pups are everywhere. So some of this will be mass production issues.

I been living in it full time 2 years now and love it....I do find forest river does crappy work found lots of mistakes all over nails shot threw siding threw the trim i mean when they shot a pin nail threw the trim and it would split the trim they just hide it there is lots of hidden mistakes everywhere shotty work from forest river for the amount of money they charge people it should be perfect....to me your trailer is a 2 person trailer!!!if you want entertainment you need way bigger....remember there is used like i said you can remodel if your into your trailer that much like myself....my fifth wheel is my home....

I sent them over 75 pics of water Damage from a staple not counter sunk on roof poking hole in membrane. And they needed a few more then a few more. I've seen holes drilled in drains pipes under sink for wires to run and out let. Fuck forest river. Either hire some better factory workers or pay the techs at the dealers to fix them and quit making getting a warrenty issue approved more complicated than that the issue

...by cheap get cheap...Flagstaff, Rockwood, Georgia & EPro are outstanding TTs from Forest River...

My Rockwood had way more issues than the FR I traded it in for but results may vary I guess.

The Forest River RVs are very poorly made. We have a 2021 325PACK13 toy hauler and have had it back to the dealer three times. The fuel station has had one tank through it and quit working.

15,000 is not cheap and regardless what you pay it should be made properly .

I’m looking at mine rn and I can tell you they are poorly built. They hide it good but it’s horrid. Cheap low grade wood

thank you for being realistic about the different levels of quality vs price, so many rag on Forest River, but if you want/can afford a low price point, you do get a lot for the money. Grey wolf is not intended to be a full timer rig, its for weekenders, and serves that segment well, Before we bought our Alpha Wolf 23 RDL, we were going to buy a Grey Wolf 23MK, for us it was all about the pantry in the Alpha Wolf, but I think the Grey wolf would have served us just as well.

@@mattemerine199 yea their cable system is not fantastic. We have since upgraded to a Grand Design Imagine 3250BH, not even in a similar place when it comes to quality. I didn’t know what I was missing. #GD4Life

Forest river is one of the worst RV brands. RV tech here...

So let's see. Your hauling a poorly designed rv that smells like crap, has poor design and quality and it a threat to your personal safety. Water and shower both by electricity! Did china develop these monstrosity? Hope your little girl doesn't hit her head during the night. Unbelievable! Stay safe man and watch out for your tires blowing out. Cheap chinese rubber! Seen this happening alot! Danger! Stay safe folks! Ps, complaints of mice and spiders getting in too!

It is shockingly disappointing that Forest River would find it acceptable to build RVs with the water hookups directly above the electric. The location of the thermostat is also inexcusable. This demonstrates an obvious lack of care for safety and customer satisfaction. Rest assured that if this RV has such easily visible, questionable design flaws that there are many more that are concealed and out of eyesight. They can look at the American auto industry to see what that kind of mindset leads to. They deserve to go out of business. I also have a Forest River RV.
