I never understood why people put themselves in a position to pay $1700 a month on a new Hellcat when they could simply spend a fraction of that on a used first gen Hellcat. I got my 2016 for $48k with monthly payments I can easily afford. While others are spending around what, $60k on a new Scat Pack 😂 I feel like the winner for spending less on a better trim but that’s just me. I special ordered my scat pack in 2015, is my daily driver (65 mile commute each way) has 110,000 miles on it and still kicks...no issues to date, and sounds and runs amazing. Still suprised a Dodge could last this long and still hold up like it has. Oh, and still SO MUCH FUN TO DRIVE

I started with a 16 RT Charger, then a 18 Scat which I loved! Always thought my goal was to get a Hell Cat. I tried one out and OMG that would have been the biggest mistake I would have ever made. Ended up getting a new Scat wide body and love it! If I ran the strip all the time and had the correct drag radials the Hell Cat would be the route to go, but I love road racing and having just enough power to have fun. I’m 65 and owned 68 and 69 Road Runners. I know what fun is. Great video! So truthful! Happy Thanksgiving Brother! 🦃

To be real a scat pack WB is probably the best option if you want to actually put that 500 HP down, those 6.4s with wider tires are fun to drive just hit 15k on mine and I can’t wait to put 100k on it. Hellcat would be nice as a secondary/Sunday driver maybe one day.

Has nothing to do with power if you can afford it. Imagine buying a car for 100k, and you only make between 50 to 75k a year. On top of a 7 to 10% interest rate. Dude's out living above their means trying to keep up with social media standards. Add another $220 to that $1700 that's my mortgage and my 22 wb charger a month. I wouldn't there have a note to supercede my mortgage.

My f10 M5 makes same 710 hp, has 255 tires in the back and hooks better than my scat which made 530hp and had 315s. The answer is in the suspension, everyone overlooks it but its so important it transfers weight efficiently to the rear wheels. Put some demon springs on your hellcat and watch your power get put down. Lastlt would be tuning, minimize the torque coming on too fast on low RPM

Same, F10 M5 stage 2 full bolt on. Even with my KW3’s I’ll still admit this car has traction issues taking off from anything 50mph or lower. May play around with de-tuning low end torque. Is that the setup you got on yours?

My sister bought a new 2018 392 Daytona Charger and recently bought a 2023 Scat Pack Hemi Orange edition. She kept the Daytona and now has them both and they are both awesome cars. I bought a new 2022 Super Stock and I love it but it stays in the shop most days and I daily drive a Cummins Mega Cab. Her Chargers are much more user friendly as I would never even consider driving the SS in wet weather. However, NOTHING beats the sound of that big iron lung bolted atop of that 6.2L Hemi. lol

man good video, but even with the scatpacks they drive 10x better with one single mod that a lot of scatpack and hellcat owners negate and opt for many other things like rims and wrap jobs. The one single mod that will improve the drivability is to get a rear suspension kit upgrade from either Bwoody performance or AAD performance suspension either of these kits will run between $1000 to $1500 dollars and in comparison to wrap jobs, rims, speakers, or even air ride setups. This is a must have and honestly the best bang for your buck and it also improves the ride experience permanently not like a quick non permanent fix which is hands down what everyone likes for some reason which is tires for some reason. yes tires help improve the ride and experience but only temporarily. A rear suspension setup is by far the best hands down mod you can do to these cars and it will stay for ever and even make the already improved driving experience with top of the line tires even that much more satisfying and even on a warn tire the car will ride better than one on a new tire because the upgraded suspension will always be there. #octanered392

Yeah true the factory tires suck but I've had good roll runs on stock tires. Tell him to stop mashing the pedal. Sounds like he can't drive personally. You have 1200 hp hellcats out there with a tire setup and it works. Stock redeye can definitely be tammed.

I have a 22 Challenger Redeye WB and share the frustration of traction off the line. I drove a Scat Pack before buying my Redeye- no comparison. The additional power, the lower stance, the blower whine, the exhaust note- so worth it IMO. This said, the car I sold to buy my Redeye was a supercharged Corvette- I’m accustomed to driving really fast cars.

We have a 2012 SRT8 Challenger with catch can , Magnaflow exhaust and Comp Cam Stage 2. No mds with the Hellcat lifters. Had to use them as Comp had lifters on a long back order. High Horse Performance took care of everything and gave excellent support. Tuner did great but had to tweak it a second time. Thank goodness that second time was free of charge. The cam woke this thing up and it will check your talent if you don't pay attention or have mild skill. lol. Everybody thinks they have talent. Am I right?

Ill say this, I had a 2012 CLS 550 that was tuned by Weistec. It make 550hp and 715lbs of torque. Defemitely less horsepower than any variation of a Hellcat branded car. However, I switched from 255 20in Michelin Pilot Sport 4s to 285 Toyo R888r's and that made a big difference. I was actually Luanching from stop lights and not spinning like before. I took the car to Irwindale Speedway literally the day of or the next Thursday and did terrible on the Pilot Sport 255's. I think I ran like 8.97 on the 1/8th. When I was stock everything I was running a 4.3 0-60 and 12ish 1/4 with 402hp and 449 tq on those san PS4's. I'm telling you street radials are your best bet at least on the torque side. I was beating hellcats on my stock tune because they spun. I had my most fun racing Scats on my stock set up. Once I got the tune, it was kinda too fast and too much torque to have the same type of fun. Just my two cents. I don't own a Scat or a Cat but Id like to soon. #RIPGhettoBenz

Imma tell you what a shop told me when I wanted to slap a supercharger in. He asked me what was I trying to accomplish? I said more responsiveness. He said ok try this Peddle Commander and set it at Sport Plus. I came back and was like ok why did I just have to pull over and set it way down because the wheel spin was stupid. He said it’s better to have the power when u want it than to have it all the time. People are dropping big money on just having the power and the clout of a brand. If power is all u want then there are way cheaper cars u can make that with. When the hood got hold of Mopar it was over with. if i dont turn traction control completely off, i can't really burnout in the 392 because it will cut power to the motor as soon as it loses traction. this is in the 6 speed. so unless i keep it in auto mode and then turn traction control and stability control off, i get traction without much issue on 245 tires

I have owned a 2008 SRT 8 in black loaded to the hilt because all of those cars that year were maxed out . First year back from the 70's . That had a 392 hemi and that had more juice than any muscle car I owned to that point . Instant power rush . If anybody decided to race these cars on the street they were pushing their luck. Power is addicting in these cars . I would open it up on some long stretches of the interstate . Unbelievable. Stable like it was on rails . No tickets . It was my one place I could be listening to the great stereo system and wind down from a stressful job. The feel of driving these cars under control is magic. It's not worth racing some other lunatic for what ? Bragging rights ! This is the message that needs to go out to EVERYONE driving these powerful cars . If you have to race find a track and let it rip but don't put yourself or others in danger on the streets . Keep up the good work. Educate .

I might have to upgrade to a Hellcat..: Got burnt by a mildly tuned Civic Type R from a 90mph+ roll and couldn’t catch up to it by 130… somehow never lived that down. I’ve never really been a P’ing contest guy, but just knowing a near-stock 4 banger of any kind can beat me doesn’t sit well at all. Regardless, I’ve driven my WB scat 8K miles in 13 months and have no regrets! Still have the stock Pirellis on and no handling complaints… go easy to 15mph and then light them up!

If you’re spinning then you’re in a gear that’s too low. In a Scat go to manual shifting and try starting in 2nd or 3rd gear. Same with the Hellcats.

I use to think that the hellcat was the goal but what the point if you can’t use the power or you don’t frequent the drag strip. You’re not going to catch traction on any 20 inch tire on a street. You need 17 inch or 15 inch Drag radial either M/T ET street R or Hoosier DBR and also suspension. And to know which surface you’re making a hit on. You’ll need to 2nd gear launch on a dig. There are higher horsepower cars that can hook on a virgin street. You have to put effort into learning how to set the car up and how to launch it. You can’t just stab the gas pedal and expect it to hook

That’s the thing about most scat and cat owners, most of y’all don’t understand that when you have that much power in the car it takes more than just getting wider tires, you need the suspension also. All that power means nothing if y’all don’t have the tires plus suspension to get it to the ground.

The charger/challenger tire is THE WORST tire I have EVER had in my life! If it rained, I was sliding. If there was a puddle, I was sliding. If you spit on the ground, I was sliding. And not just sliding, I'm talking about hydroplane and only going 30mph. 😢

To be honest, everybody has their own preferences of power enjoyability like me. I had a scat and I've always wanted to hellcat. I tried it mine in. I found a used one that was well taken care of. I'm very particular by my vehicles. Only paid 46 at 37,000 on it miles. They gave me 37.5 for my scat. I love it hellcats awesome! Yeah got to watch it. Putting the power now but I know with other buddy he's got some of the extreme contact Continentals 315s and a bunch of other hellcat owners I know. Have some too. I got a nearby 18. That's my haircut. Love the thing. I'm glad I did what I did. And yeah I'm not going to lie. Spending ain't winning but to me it's still fun. And yeah the red eyes a whole nother level. But I'm still going to do a police swap on mine and get mine another hundred horsepower. I'll have to get some better tires but so this is not a whole book long what I'm trying to say. Good video though. Like your videos. Some people like to scats shoot. There's some people who get scats build them up to have more power than hellcat, but at the end of the day it's all what you want to do and what you think is fun. But I hope you buddy can figure out what he can do and if he can work out for him that he can get back in a scat pack or he can find a whole new love for the red eye. Keep on making the videos man. They good.

I'd agree partially to an extent. My widebody scat cant hold a candle to a hellcat in a 40 or 60 roll on regular street conditions. You might not be able to put down all the power without heating up the tires in a cat, but you still smoking any stock scat in a 40 roll. That being said a scat is a great car and has more than enough power if you don't care about drag racing and doing illegal cutting up thru traffic.

I really wish dodge had done AWD like the TrackHawk/Durango with the ability to make it 2WD or even transition to RWD and only use AWD when needed (like the Haldex Lamborghini uses)

I am officially over the scat pack 1320. Getting a used Mercedes c 63s . V8 over 500 hp and the motor is hand built. Get this. You can go from 505 hp to 800 hp with just larger turbos. No other items needed. The motor can handle it from the factory. Transmission also. Looks gangsta makes the scat pack look like a Geo Prizm.

In my opinion that’s not entirely true. Even what they say about the narrow body’s. I have a 392 scat pack shaker on 245 and I only spin when I really want to. You have to know how to feather the throttle. Also, don’t put it in track everything. Make sure to have street traction, at least sport traction on the street. Idk, I just hear all about 245s being dangerous and all that but I have no problem. I’ve done pulls also, 30, 40, and 50 rolls. Even from a dig. I know not to stomp on it because I’m going to burn the tires. You got to feather your way into it… just my honest opinion about mopar ownership.

My scat has plenty of power for me. The 305s don’t hook on straight dig I have to feather the pedal. 40 mph roll is fine if it’s not wet. I can’t imagine adding another 225 hp. Just to much unless you setting it up for the track which is not my thing.
