Simon Sozzi - He may have the proper PPE but he certainly isn't wearing it correctly. His mask isn't covering his nose and he is at an elevated position handing food down to people in the direct path of any nasal secretions, which can land on their hands which most certainly will touch their face. Add to that, it's the black and brown communities that are being hit the hardest.

Just a day or two ago I was feeling discomfort and stress, I saw the time and decided to wash my hands, put on my mask, and walk outside and waited for the music. 10-20 minutes later I was back in my home relaxing with my Butterscotch Sunday and my discomfort and stress were gone. No doubt an Ice Cream Truck is not as essential as Medical, Water, or Shelter, but we all are going through some stressful times right now and something as simple as waiting to hear a magical jingle and getting/enjoying your favorite frozen treat is more than enough to remove our stress and brighten are day.

This story is very sweet but very irresponsible. Ice cream trucks are not essential, you will not die without ice cream from the ice cream truck. The CDC and the WHO still recommends not eating or drinking outside of your house. I think it’s selfish to prioritize your own happiness over the safety and well being of others. It’s not just the elderly that are at risk it’s also anyone who has a compromised immune system that includes people with diabetes and asthma.

Pls don't come for me. I disagree with him, and I think him still going out and selling ice cream is extremely reckless and ignorant. I get that he's taking precautions and all disinfecting his truck once in a while but the risk is still far more greater than the service or joy he is trying to provide. Ice cream is NOT essential, it is self indulgent. He is in new York where the number of cases are insanely high and he should think about that. He might come in to contact with someone who is asymptomatic and in a way pass it into other people, especially kids. We all need to make sacrifices for the better good, and bringing a piece of "normality" into the crisis is extremely ignorant because this is the new normal.
