First of all owners should put their trust on their drivers. You hire them, you trust they be professionals and so on. Having a f****** camera facing your driver should and always should be a violation of human privacy. What’s next! It’s ok for the government to put surveillance in your household just to see how you raising your kids🤬

I think driver facing cameras are the same as rape, treachery or a stab in the back.....the ultimate betrayal and violation of privacy. The company I work for (LTI, Milky Way) is putting driver facing cameras in this week and I am going to work somewhere else after being there for several years. I will gladly take the firing squad before I will ever drive anybody's truck with those evil AI eyeballs staring me in the face. Anybody who will put up with that kind of in your face surveillance is the perfect candidate to live in a communist state and has lost all semblance of integrity, honor and intelligence. DO NOT DRIVE FOR ANY COMPANY THAT HAS DRIVER FACING CAMERAS!!!!!

The company makes you jump through hoops to get the job then proves they don't trust you behind the wheel. Company said inwards are shut off. I put black tape over the inward lens on the Lytx and the PeopleNet devices for my own peace of mind. Then when they wanted to know why I had tape over the lens, I asked them how would they know if they are shut off? Most of the other drivers at that company just ran with the right side sun visor down. That blocked the inward camera mounted on the windshield. I quit working there last week on my own terms and will NEVER drive for someone who uses inward facing cameras. Made it 42 years without one and I'm not starting now.

WOW!!!!! Drivers are working 14-16 hour days. During that time we are talking to Dr's about physical conditions of our children or spouses, HOW IS THIS NOT A HIPPA VIOLATION. And don't give me any crap about not using my phone for this kind of business, during work hours, or do it over your lunch break. I'm on hold for half my lunch break. Company policy should NEVER supersede state or federal law. Driver Lounge my butt, this should be called the Commie Dinner Table.

My company just put on in facing the driver I'm quitting and looking for another job they are soying on us all it our home our privacy and they have no right to invasions our privacy this way there should be a law against this

Abc supply is slated to have cameras installed in all their trucks by the end of 2019. My branch was one of the first to get them. The drivers where told a week in advance and was made to watch a bs video made by the company trying to sell the idea and smooth over any questions. I told my manger since the company is putting all the liability on my I want a substantial raise. He said he couldn’t and I told him the day the cameras are installed would be my last day. Never work for a company with cameras, the first problem or issues the company will slit you’re throat to say a buck.

Ruben I work at ABC Supply Oakland California today was our first day with the cameras I put my two week notice in 10 minutes after punched in this morning I've been driving for 20 years and never have I been so offended it made me feel like a criminal a child and untrustworthy person

kp usa I hear ya, I imagine many more drivers will or already have. I don’t understand why anyone would drive with a camera on them, you’re just putting all the liability on your self and corporate will slit you’re throat, given the opportunity to save a buck in a lawsuit. You don't needa cameraon the driver. A dash cam is enough. I've had 2 non-fault accidents with my own cam and the cops didn't even need it, nor did my company ask for the vid.

The companies that do this want to protect themselves.When the camera is on the driver,He/she becomes a possible scapegoat for the company.That makes these companies for beginners.If I knew that all mega carrier training companies were temporary employment to gain experience,I would not have been so upset by getting screwed all the time!It is just their business model.They use rookies for low pay,rookies should use them to gain experience.

This is wild. Shit is now a sweatshop on wheels. What the fuck is dude talking bout. Trucking been here since god knows how long. We had more fatalities in 19 then in 30 yrs. So what the fuck. Pay driver's not buy bullshit cameras. What happen to the freedom of trucking. What happen to the unity/experience/skill of shifting. Big hoods. Loud Jake's. What I see is alot of sheep. And no mo truckers. Low pay. Friegt brokers ripping guys off. OTR guys living like they running from a nuclear blast. Bottled water and can foods. This shit crazy!!!!! Steven Tucker .....yes but it needs to be pointing at the highway not at the driver. This is where you draw the line between your office (driver cab) and you sleeping quarters. Don’t get me wrong personally I don’t want a camera 🎥 pointing at me. You got enough equipment inside to distract a driver anyway so why have someone to micromanage you. The company feel like they can’t trust you on there equipment anyway. I just have to say on my opinion not for everyone else. They may agree or not agree. It’s gonna be a big controversy about that so for safety and Insurance purpose I agree but invading privacy I don’t agree and the need to correct the issue needs to be address all together.

ruskodisco I do know this due to a court case involving my company with a fatality and the judge wanted 4 more seconds of footage after the crash. It could not provide it because it doesn't exist. So I do know this and this is regarding a private company, not the government. Two different things and two different arguments.

I've had 40+ events none ended in anything....speed hard brake or lane departure....never got a ticket or crashed....still got fired....b.s ass rules from people who can't drive a standard car..let alone navigate 72 ft truck at any speed.....tell me how drive a truck...u and ur camera need to go sit ur ass down ..learn from the pros

The only problem I got with cameras watching out RN I’m all for all of us to have cameras so we know who all we are because that’s what we want. This is what we want that’s fine and because the world is about no trust no more and is about what’s coming and you might as well face it ASAP. You can have a talk show from here to hell Until you both all dead and you can make whatever argument that you want and that’s fine but we all gonna have cameras on so we all know who’s who and not end that that ended all because that way everybody can look at the camera just like watching TV because that’s what you want you wanna know who’s who because you don’t wanna trust you don’t wanna do your damn job and then again you have truck drivers who don’t wanna drive a damn truck and then as you pass one wreck after another on the interstatethe damn truth of all of it it cost money and that’s a fact
