Its not good that something keep looking at you with the purpose of finding mistakes. Its goona keep driver nervous . They gonna feel less independent while driving . Results can be low productivity , drive nervously .

EXACTLY. Front facing cameras are a distraction and are extremely dangerous.

Full blown big brother surveillance. What I talk about is NONE of my employer's business.

After the ring orange pop on my Eld, will they record to see what was wrong with me?😮 or is it just let them know on their computer without record me?
@OverTheRoadATSАй бұрын
Great question! Forward-facing dash cameras typically record the road ahead and not inside the cab unless you also have a driver-facing camera installed. If you're referring to an event triggered by your ELD (like a hard brake or sudden movement), the camera might save a short clip of what happened before and after the incident to help determine what caused it. However, this doesn’t mean it's recording you unless there's a specific inward-facing camera setup. It’s a good idea to check with your carrier to understand their specific system and policies.

I literally have no problem with front facing dash cameras I believe everything can be taking care over there, but what I’m really against is inward facing cameras I’m against that bc that’s a violation of privacy for a truck driver who is going to spend weeks and even months alone in a truck that’s not fair a truck is your second home and it should be treated as like it is a second home to prevent stress and bad reputation.

A truck is indeed a driver's second home, and maintaining that personal space is important for reducing stress and protecting their well-being. Balancing safety with privacy is essential for the industry's reputation and the drivers' mental health.

Can a forward facing camera tell if you are on your cellphone from the side of the camera lens.
@OverTheRoadATS6 ай бұрын
Good question! The forward-facing cameras on trucks mainly watch the road, not the driver, so they can’t really tell if you're using your phone from the side. There are other systems for keeping an eye on what’s happening inside the cab. But either way, it’s best to keep off your phone while driving-it’s safer and it’s the law for truckers.

Hey J-Bomb, if you watch the video, you'll see that these tools are made to help the driver. Not to be creepy or spy on them. Hope that helps! :)

Its only to cover themselves in a event not the driver my company don't do this micromanaging
@OverTheRoadATS4 ай бұрын
I hear you! Dash cams can seem like they're just for the company, but they actually help show what really happens on the road. They can protect drivers too, especially in accidents. But I get that every company does things their own way, and it’s good yours gives you more freedom!
