There's a lot muslim population of Hyderabad who don't speak Telugu as their mother tongue, Urdu is second large spoken language and official language in Telangana. I don't subscribe to Owaisi's ideology but you need to understand cultural context of Telangana. There are a lot of Urdu in Telugu and especially in Telugu spoken in Telangana is highly influenced by Urdu.
