There is a huge lag between when rate cuts are implemented and the effects are actually felt. Not only that, but rate cuts themselves always happen based on lagging indicators, such as unemployment (unemployment data always lags hiring data since businesses stop hiring before they start firing). This is why rate cuts have almost never successfully prevented a recession. We saw it in '08. The yield curve uninverted, the fed cut rates, the markets surged for a bit based on false hope and reality set in soon after as the bad unemployment data caught up to the bad hiring data and it was armageddon from there. Anyone feeling the impact of these economic shifts should consider Crypto long-term trading strategies to protect their assets. My advice to anyone feeling the heat in this inflation, just trade long term more than ever, I have made over 720k from day trading with Seren Wintersun’s in few weeks, this is one of the best medium to backup your assets incase it goes bearish..

10:53 not sure I get the argument of these chart comparisons. The left hand chart at Jan 2022 looks *exactly* like the right hand chart of today. The end point of the left hand chart is arbitrary, you could choose any day you want, even from decades back. Furthermore the left hand chart then proceeded to drop 15-20% from that point in Jan 2022. Therefore the moving averages, though beautiful, were not predictive.

not predictive, which is exactly what CC says. It seems to me that his premise might be: stock markets trend around 2/3 to 3/4 of the time. Identify the trend, stay with it as long as it is active, and bail out when it is clear that the trend has ended, even if this means you lose 10% or so by the time you have sold your holdings. (CC sold some of his stuff last August, one remembers).

@ yes he does say that (not predictive)! My beef is more that the end date of the left hand chart is arbitrary and as such may as well be Jan 2022, which would correlate much better with the chart on the right. Is so happened that the chart on the left then dropped 15-20%. We wouldn’t want that on the chart on the right! So therefore the mesmerizing moving averages if anything are speaking to the odds of a 15-20% drop, in my hypothetical interpretation, simply by changing the left hand chart end date to Jan 2022, and that would cause the left hand chart to correlate statistically much better to the chart on the right. I would not mention it but the previous about 5 chart comparisons had the same “mistake” so I’m like, what? I’m like, at least I still have half a cup of coffee on this perfect Saturday morning.

If the aim is to determine the basic trend, then in most cases, one simple metric such as the Golden Cross (or e.g. percentage bands) should do. What's the advantage we gain from additionally looking at e.g. SPX:short-term treasuries, like CC does? What I am more interested in would be a chart that helps where basic trend-determining doesn't work, like the hot-knife-through-butter crashes of 1987 or 2020. Something that flashed warning lights indicating some serious problems under the hood. I think looking at breadth or monthly MACD might be a start for this.

Prices may go higher in distribution but the risk is greater and not worth it, therefore risk off. Buy the end of accumulation phase and ride the markup. Chris never seems to get what phase the markets are in except for markup and after it's obviously markdown.
