She is Sandhya. One of the best Dancer in all forms in Bollywood and in Marathi Movies....
@Music-ge8gk3 жыл бұрын
Surely I will get some fire for saying this, but I do not think Sandhya was one of the best dancers. She had the energy for sure, but to me her dance movements appear clumsy, abrupt and extraneous instead of fluid, continuous and harmonious. Her expressions (again in my view) also did not seem to match the songs. She almost always had a little scared, bewildered, surprised look on her face even in romantic songs. If she did not have V Shantaram's support, I am not sure she would have made many movies (I remember only one which was not directed by V Shantaram). I know many think differently, as she is popular among her fans.
@gauravw69475 ай бұрын
@@Music-ge8gk Disagree… Despite not having formal training, she underwent intensive classical training under Gopi Krishna which resulted in a movie that won audiences and awards (Filmfare and National film awards)… Her dancing matched with the songs given to her, plus she was given difficult choreographies like this one or Aadha hai Chandrama or her laavani dances in Pinjra… Most people don’t understand that Lavani isn’t supposed to be smooth and fluid, it has jerky, provocative and abrupt movements, to which Sandhya ji did justice…
@sapnarawal81953 жыл бұрын
One person doing both male and female characters like this while dancing ( different costume and makeup at front and back) is a really old INDIAN FOLK DANCE called "JHAO" and it is damn difficult because traditionally while doing it your face is fully covered with an over the top mask with very little holes for eyes to see through which allows just front view barely and not side views or up and down. So you are not able to exactly know till where exactly the stage is and you would need a really good balance and prior knowledge of length and width of the stage or of the place where u perform. Also the costume is very heavy and very tightly tucked to your body as you have to do very quick and sudden dance moves so the costume must remain in place throughout. On whole the costume is very difficult and sometimes suffocating to carry if performance goes on for too long. Plus you have to maintain both male and female expressions and actions throughout. In short THIS INDIAN FOLK DANCE IS DAMN DIFFICULT TO PULL OFF.
@arundhati_chatterjee3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Sapna for the additional knowledge. This is a very tough dance form, I still remember I was in 14years old when I did this solo performance in a dance competition at my school. It took me days to get the postures correct. Hats off to the creative minds of our Indian cultural.

their subbers are so stupid in real sense. they just dont know how to translate a song or poem. they just kill its real meaning, essence, innocence, beauty as a whole. they just translate it like a news. korbin i can understand but an artist singer like rick also dont understand this big mistake and stupidity by their translators is a big disappointment for me. really it pissed me off every time they kill the beauty and essence of a song especially as classic as this song and show instead their own rotten mentality by translating such nice innocent song in such a bad way

I just realised something.... Back in those days, everything was so simple... There was no double meaning.. I have watched this song so many times in my childhood on tv... But today, everything seemed so double meaning😅... I guess its all in our heads, how we interpret it...
@reconquistahinduism3463 жыл бұрын
It's too simplistic Even in those times , there were cabaret songs by Helen which today can be called as item songs. Even the films of those times had murder , rape , violence etc. Yes there were many good and sensible movies too but to say that everything was simple and sweet in those times is an exaggeration. Today you are living much more comfortable life thsn you could ever.
@shailjapathak31553 жыл бұрын
I think few movies in 80’s started slipping vulgarity and absurd content. But there’s is always good content even today. And there are some people who are creating double meaning songs but they are most viewed too. AR Rehman has a YT channel and he is giving platform to new talent. Let us promote creativity and art instead of hoping that suddenly copy cats and non sensical rapping will stop.

Trivia: The director of this movie was known for many socially relevant movies. Before this he had made all movies in Black and White. During the earlier movie he met with an accident in which he almost lost his eye sight. For a few days he was not able to see. And that's when he really understood and appreciated the beauty of colours. So he decided to make the next movie (which was this) in colour and named it Navrang (9 Colours). The dancer in the song is his wife. And yes she is also playing the male dancer character in the song.
@user-wv1yt3 жыл бұрын
All his movies had a social message that was very ahead of it time. Also he was a very broad minded director who not only married his heroine(s) Jayshree and then Sandhya but launched his daughter Rajshri ( daughter of Jayshree) into movies which is not something that directors of that time did. For most actors and directors from that time like Raj Kapoor, Rajendra Kumar, Sunil Dutt, Dharmendra ( one of the MOST regressive) SONS were made for entering film industry NOT daughters.
