I own a Lexus i-250 with luxury package. I absolutely love the car. I don't drive the car thinking it's a sports car. I drive it as transportation. The car has plenty of power. The paint on my car is a metallic midnight blue that most of the time looks black in the right light. I think the darker paint colors look best on the car as it shows off it's curves. Nice video!

It has ample power for everyday driving, it can (as you say) struggle and sound a little strained on very steep inclines due to lack of torque, but overall the engine with an auto transmission copes well and is plenty fast enough 🙂

Definitely not slow but not fast either. It was never built for performance but it was built as a cruiser and that's exactly what it is. I've recently added a custom backbox and performance air filter and run shell v power fuel. I've cleaned the maf sensor and throttle body and added STP ultra petrol treatment. This has made a definitive improvement to performance and acceleration is better.

run an intake-carbon/fuel cleaner and you'll notice a huge improvement. Only like 100$ to get done.

It's not a sport car, but if I try I can have my 0-60mph (0-100) in about 6.8-7.2 secondz, her top speed is around 143 amd she handles amazing

Its not a sports car but defo beats 80-90% of cars in a race. Not off the line but once you get it on higher revs its quite fun. Good that there is not that much power you can go flying off.

I have the is250 f sport from 2006. It comes with a set of staggered wheels. I put coilovers on it and it holds speed very well through the winding roads in the hills.

I may own an IS350 but I definitely love IS250s too. If I didn’t find my 350 with low miles for a great price I would have happily gotten an is250

I'm from Europe as well.. I have 220d with DPF and EGR delete, chip tuned, KYB coils and springs, manual sport 6speed gearbox. It makes 450nm and 210 hp on the wheels!

Enough power. Not much power Plenty of power. Now a this you don’t need powerful engine car. Gas price is soaring, The most important there. The car is bullet proof and reliable. Lexus have all of that. High quality built. Best 6 speed transmission up 12 speed transmission. The long life Aisin transmission Yamaha engine. Most of car companies have aisin transmission and Yamaha engine which sister company of Toyota. Volvo is one of them. Smart choice. If you want more high quality of Toyota. I had a IS250 - 2012. Had 150,000 miles when I traded it. Car drove and handled like it was on rails. Driving it in sport (ECT pwr on) it wasnt bad speed/power wise. Out of my other vehicles ive owned, it was a blast to drive. In a way, I regret not getting another IS but needed a larger vehicle - GS.

Awesome video. On my channel I actually tackled the same question. I basically made a video talking about if this car is slow. From my personal experience of owning it for a few years, I actually think it’s perfectly fine. It’s not going to be as fast as a 350 but it’s definitely faster than your typical Toyota Corolla.

As an owner of a 2008 is250, its def not fast. Although at 80 she cruises super nice. I'd through a turbo in it but I live in California and won't pass smog if I do that so I'm stuck at 200hp lol. It's super comfortable, luxurious, handles well, and is super reliable and you can find them cheap. I paid 11k for mine with 70k miles and it's still like a new car.

2008 here as well, building a track project and i've put my work into suspension and chassis cause it has no serious power. It does have good suspension design and chassis rigidity though. Very stable and rigid car, decently balanced since the ISF and the 2/350 have the same unibody, subframes (minus the rear subframe which is fit for the larger limited slip diff and more power on 350/ISF). Slow car with a sports car chassis, love these cars.

@@jamesaxelson917 it's not necessarily slow, it's just not fast lol. But yea it handles as well as my 2017 chevy ss with magride. The brakes are surprisingly powerful too so I can see the 350's and IS F's doing some major damage at an autocross event. Although there is not much bolt on performance parts for the 250 there is a company that makes a turbo kit for it that ill 100% buy and get installed once I move out of the Peoples Republic of California

@@TARPGOD There's a ton of suspension/chassis and brake parts online, but I would agree, the stock brakes are decent. I know RRRacing makes a supercharger kit for about 5g, and FIGS engineering has some PPE long-tube header options. I'd go supercharger for less installation work personally.

People need to understand that this car is luxury sedan with nice v6 which provides you specific quality of driving experience, but you cannot expect that this car is fast. Who want fast IS, he need to think about IS350, and he need still to know that even that model is not fast like GTR. But with some “small”modifications easily you can reach 350+ HP! In Europe market IS350 is very rare to find, we have plenty of IS220d 😢

i have is 250 manual sport...and everywhere i see something about this car everybody say its slow...and i will agree with Vucko that it depends where you live 100% in europe is not slow and ill make mine a bit faster.. a week ago i put in lightweight flywheel and 250mm clutch disk from land cruser...and its a diferent car much quicker and feels faster,pulls harder,have k&n filter and custom back boxes...soon ill bring it for some remap tunning,dyno and hope to get 230 to 240hp

I drove my 2010 IS250 for Uber and Lyft for one month. I felt like it was blasphemy to drive such a nice car for rideshare. So...I bought a slow 2015 Toyota Corolla for the rideshare gig. I kept my IS250 and I think it's pretty fast. Faster than the Corolla that's for sure!

I just got my 2012 IS250 Fsport 3 months ago. My camaro ss got totaled so coming from a camaro to the lexus I don’t find it slow for what it is. it only has 204hp & 185 tq its not suppose to be fast. Thats why they have the IS350 & ISF.

I live in the USA and believe me the is250 is still very fast in my book. Yes it's more on handles than it has power but the rear wheel transmission packs plenty of power to the V6.

I own a 09, and yea they aren’t the fastest car on the road but it’s got enough juice to quickly pass and it handles great with good tires. Mines rwd also and it still has enough hp to get sideways or do donuts lol

Evo brate moj neki stav… za auto koje je ispod 2010 godišta, iako ima v6 motor, mislim da je 208 start konja sasvim okej. Ima baš mnogo aftermarket dijelova te se to može lagano dignuti ja mislim. Za evropske puteve, mislim da je top opcija. Ja ga planiram kupiti i napraviti ozbiljan projekat od njega jer sam mišljenja da je itekako auto za projekta.

Hello, both engines are fairly reliable. But IS350's don't suffer from carbon buildup like the IS250 with only direct injection so I would go with IS350 but again both engines don't have big and expensive issues

I bought a manual is250 a bit ago, love the car, but yeah I reckon torque could be a bit better... I got a mate with a GTI and comparing the two. The is has 153 kw, 250nm, while the gti has, 155kw, 280nm. Pretty much just the torque that has a big difference

Quick question, how many revs do you have while having a full stop in Drive mode without any climate control enabled? For example, while standing at a red light. Is there any vibrations on a steering wheel in this case? I have around 500 and my steering wheel kinda shaky in this kind of situation. So I'm trying to figure out what the issue is. Is it just low revs or other problem... Thank you in advance

Hi mate, thanks for the compliments! In drive standing still holing the brake its at 600rpms. No vibrations, when aircon is ON then it does vibrate just a bit. I think it vibrates because of low 500rpm. I don't know what can be the cause, never had that problem on my IS

I have a 21 IS350 RWD, I did test drive the IS300AWD, felt it was very underwhelming coming from a GTI. I image the 250 feels even more anemic

Driving it now on 75 k miles the carbon build issue came the car is very sluggish now ..feels like 70 hp car ..bit waste of money it does use too much fuel for what if is..

I even mean the Is F is also slow compared to f.eks. a AMG 6.2 v8, or Hellcat engine , most of the v8 from the premium performance models of German and US cars, are more energetic and sparky then the zzzleepy Lexus v8 sorry ,but that's a fact .......😅

It’s not really worth it just get a is350 honestly
