The Lions remind me of the old Yankees & old Lakers & old Pistons after a big but inconsequential win. The Vikings were acting like they won the Super Bowl after beating the packers. I disagree with greeny also and I'm a lions fan really worried about my defense and coming off a short week. But allowing for teams with best records to have games at home will mean there isn't gonna be a lot of disparity. Usually the same handful of teams are the best. Allowing the other cities to have more opportunity to host as well for their fans isn't a negative thing to me. It also allows for more intrigue and a higher probability for upsets due to the one and done structure which makes winning a super bowl so difficult

I think the compromise for reseeding would be if the division winner has a losing record then they get reseeded to a wild card slot. Teams with a losing record should not be gifted home field period. If they want to maintain importance of the division keep it the same but add some stipulation. It wouldn’t affect this years playoffs but could prevent the mentioned Seahawks situation.

Hey Greeny, the scheme is division-oriented, not generic record seeding. The way things turned out in the different divisons is a good quirk. A division winner in so-called weaker division can actually prove themselves in the playoffs. In the scenarios given, the South team will face an opponent whose record would have won that division, but that team would've earned the right to play at home.

You can say that the vikings coach has done an amazing job too, but in reality, they had an amazing receiving core and a good defense. What was holding them back was a competent quarterback. Lions fan here. Vikings are the better team overall. This wasn't the case a month or two ago when the majority of the Lions D was healthy. It is most certainly true now. There are simply far too many injuries on the defensive side of the ball. Purdy threw two picks and they still put up 34.

If your team has the better winning record in the playoffs and has to go on the road to play a team with a worse record because of division or whatever….if your that good, then you shouldn’t have any worries…but!!…because it’s questioned by teams with winning records, goes to show lack in confidence in how they got there. This is a sport, and that means that you should not fear any team!!! Man….the biggest downfall is questions, doubts and concerns to any persons mind, let alone an entire team. PUT ME IN COACH!!!

10:44 Greene is wrong here. You have to WIN your division to get a home game. Then you have to have the best conference record to get a bye in addition to winning your conference. Say the Vikings (who I will be rooting for) lose. Then they did not accomplish goal 1 of winning their division.

Detroit has been good all year. The issue is you got ppl talking about them like they are unbeatable. It'll be a good game Sunday but I expect the Vikings to win. They beat them earlier this year in another game that could've gone either way.
