The most matured point of view I have ever listened about looks. Inshort, looks play a very important role in the beginning of the relationship so that you find out that you're being attracted towards the other person...without attraction, you'll not approach the other person for meet up or date but if their personality is good then after a certain period of time, you fall in love with them on the basis of their personality and behavior so looks do matter and play a very important role in attraction, but you only fall in love with the personality only for long term !!

Looks can just attract for a while. It is always the personality that will keep permanently attracted. Whoever you will like, you automatically start liking their looks and everything about them. And that is how it should be. We all have different definitions of beauty. We need someone who can share our happiness and sorrow, not a fashion model, humans are much more than looks. Nowadays it's mostly because of instagram and unrealistic beauty standards. People are giving more value to looks. Looks matter,but nowadays some people are just crossing the line because of social media and the unrealistic beauty standards. Humans are partly materialistic. But, there is a limit on how materialistic one should be. There is more to a person than just their looks.But looks matter to.Looks play a big role.

@@zzzbbb2192 yes we biologically want good genes...and good looks are one of the signs of having good genes...not only in human ...but also in animal kingdom the same rule applies...there they desire stronger partners( or some other biological parameters)...here comes the intelligence,taste,cultural aspect etc to play part in case of human over and above animals...what I mean is that these things,at least in some cases , makes us choose partner...but yeah, most of the time our primitive biological instinct makes the end call...that's a pity and it might cause a lot of problems to select partners on only that pref...but in some fortunate cases sometimes other factors too also prevail over biology

The example you gave was of an unattractive guy at a party with many good attributes and a woman should give him a chance. How bout you replace that unattractive man with an unattractive woman and try to get a man to see beyond that to her attributes? Will you be successful you think? At the end of the day, ghuma phira ke it is still the woman who is always expected to look deeper than physical appearance. I am a woman and i am not blind. If i already find someone unattractive, i can still go out with him but if he proves to be really great and i still dont feel excited getting naked with him, then i will get stuck in a big dilemma.

Yeah I get what you are saying, Since the past times men are treated by their income and women by beauty. Unattractive men can get beautiful women if they are rich. Whereas, if a girl is unattractive she would be considered unworthy (atleast in most cultures in the past).It has a lot to do with gender inequality. Agree that true love overlooks the parameter of looks. However, that sort of love is very rare. And I wouldn’t judge others because they expect something in their partner. Coz I'm facing this alot.. though I am fair skinned person but I have moles on my face and my personality is not attractive at all..My partner is always complaining me to change myself .. Its confusing for ppl who are in doubt,in choosing partner for themselves, as in should they be attracted towards a good looking person or not..
