If an Advantage plan is a PPO instead of HMO, then the enrollee is not restricted to in-network providers only. Out of network usually will have higher copays, though. Also PPO plans do not require referrals to see a specialist.

You’re absolutely correct! PPO Medicare Advantage plans typically allow enrollees to see both in-network and out-of-network providers, though out-of-network services often come with higher copays or coinsurance. Unlike HMOs, PPOs don’t usually require referrals to see a specialist, offering more flexibility. Thanks for pointing this out-it’s a key difference that can make PPO plans appealing for some people! 😊
