To my mind the only way to stop the problem of plastic pollution is to sort it all out at the root of the problem. Why not just use hemp and/or sugarcane based plastics instead, and phase out anything non-biodegradable? What a no-brainer.
@aprilfoozeler3 жыл бұрын
Yes but even we completely stop producing non-biodegradable plastic right now, there’s alotttt of clean up we need to do, and the plastic has already been infested by many species and trapped many too. So the problem wouldn’t be completely solved, and most companies only care about money, they don’t care too much about their environmental impacts from using these plastics. :/ pretty sad isn’t it 😢

@@aprilfoozeler The crux of the matter indeed. However don't fret. The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. They have greatly increased the life-expectancy of those of us who live in “advanced” countries, but they have destabilized society, have made life unfulfilling, have subjected human beings to indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering (in the Third World to physical suffering as well) and have inflicted severe damage on the natural world. The continued development of technology will worsen the situation. It will certainly subject human beings to greater indignities and inflict greater damage on the natural world, it will probably lead to greater social disruption and psychological suffering, and it may lead to increased physical suffering even in “advanced” countries.

It is depressing to see the destruction of ecosystems and natural paradises in the name of "progress" and to obtain natural resources. we speak of Hitler like if it was such a horrendous person but if we compare the genocide he perpetuated to the mass destruction of life Caused by fossil fuel industries (including plastics) he was a saint. but of course nobody cares, because nobody think of animals and plants as living creatures. For the sake of all other life forms on this planet Humans should be exterminated.

***** Those terms are unknown to me, i can deduct by enviroists you mean environmentalist, but i'm not sure what do you mean by evilist since evil is just a modification of wrong, and right and wrong are nothing but abstract and subjective concepts created by humans. Perhaps you mean a battle between those aware of the fragility and interdependence of biological processes in this planet VS those aristocratic and academic minorities who think through technology and selection of genes humanity can leave behind its mortality and become a mechanical being rather than a biological one. Regardless of what you meant i think is a bit too late to achieve a change. Humanity as a whole is an irrational gullible specie they rather follow authority figures than think for them selves even for a second.
