My doctor had advised me to continue finasteride for 9-12 month depending on effect on me along with the 5% minoxidil lotion. After that we will stop finasteride. (She has also told me to stop tablets 4 months before i plan for a kid). Then lifetime i will be required to use the mixed topical lotion of finasteride and minoxidil and no tablets. So depending on your hair growth, your doc will stop tabs in 8-10 months i guess. I have been taking finasteride for 4 months and m sexuality active as its been only 1 year to my marriage but haven’t noticed any significant side effect. Finasteride does lower sex drive... solution is to use it as little as possible...I take .5mg once in 3 days while using a topical min-fin 0.01% solution and it works pretty good without SIGNIFICANT side effects. I know it for a fact because when I stop fin completely, I notice a big difference.

@@akashpatel1275 Relax dude.. since you've been on 1mg per day, I bet your hair is at its best. If you want to retain the density you have to decrease fin as gradually as possible. Start with one pill every alternate day for 2 weeks, then switch to one every 3 days for 3-4 weeks, then finally half pill every 3 days. Notice if you're losing a lot of hair in between and modify dosage accordingly. Also when reducing oral fin start adding topical fin. Take 120ml of minoxidil and add 12mg fin (use 5mg tabs to reduce milky-ness of solution) to achieve 0.01% fin concentration. I use 3 of these 5 mg tabs in 120ml minoxidil, so my fin solution concentrate is 0.015%, many brands that offer costly min-fin topical solutions offer way more fin in the solution which leads to systemic absorption of fin in blood, instead of staying (topical) just in the scalp. Plenty of good videos on this topic. I have done the research hence giving you a simple analysis. And yes once you reduce fin, the sex drive returns. You'll notice that for sure. So remember, don't go cold turkey all of a sudden. Reduce gradually. And avoid hot water on your head, try to end bath with filter water if possible, use derma roller(1mm) once every 15 days,( use Google Calendar to remind) and keep your hair as short as possible (trust me - short hair is better than no hair) also use onion oil weekly or bi weekly. In Real:- Minoxidle - is the best for prevent hair fall and reGrowth of hair. i suggest people to purchase minoxidle from Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana, it is close to 160rs for 60ml 5%. and for finastrate 1mg it ill cose you 15rs fr 10 tabs. my suggestion to prevent hair loss and regrowth is, use minoxidil and take biotin and finastrate in the morning empty stomach. i am doing this from 2017 and I reversed my baldness.

Mera experience minoxidil ke sath bhut bura raha hai. Jab tak use kar raha tha tab tak hair regrow ho rahy thy. Jaisy use karna chora to pehle se zeada hairfall hogya. It’s not a permanent solution, once you start using it you have to continue it. I personally won’t recommend it to anyone.

I have been using minoxidil 5% also alcohol free with procapil mixed from Man matters from last 4 months. Once a day, preferably before sleep. I leave it overnight. Eat balanced diet. Has quit smoke and drink from last 2 months. What I have observed is I got almost no hair fall, my crown area is filling up gradually which was thinning fast. Also my erection has dropped down to 70% from last few weeks. I can feel it accurately. Also as I'm on intermittent fasting lifestyle since last 3 4 months. So I am loosing weight fast. As much as 6 7 kg lost. I'm not sure what causing the drop. I will go for test if it persists. Energy stamina level are great. Good sleep also. So don't know whether my testosterone has dropped or not. If someone is facing any issues like me , let me know what are you doing about it. Thanks guys.

here is my take on minoxidil with experience : it works no doubt but you cant discontinue it once you start using it. you have to keep using until you die or else you loose 5x the hair you gained with minoxidil you start with 5% after some time it wont be effective then you take 10% it wont be effective after some time then they will prescribe you finasteride. now you are taking both medications just imagine the amount of time and money you will wasting on that and yes don't ignore the sex issue that comes with finasteride. Its rabbit hole. after some time your body will built resistance and nothing will be effective anymore. just to save some hair you wasted so much money on medication and put you body at danger. I opted for hair transplant it takes around 1yr to get good result with it but I never had to take any medicine to maintain it. or go bald get hair tattoo its very common now days. you are man looks should not effect you until you are in your prime years and not married yet. hope it help you guys take decisions these doctors and med companies would do anything to get you into meds and prescriptions !
