I was born into a Mormon family and was very active and convinced until 33 when I left and became a Christian (by God's grace - thank you Jesus). Point being, I consider myself to know Mormonism well. What he said is 100% fact.

Thanks for this Pastor Jon! What is your take on The Chosen, if you've had the chance to watch it? Apparently a good number of LDS members are involved in this project... I'd like to know if you've seen Mormon beliefs seeping into the show. I watched the first season and thought it was good until I started really getting into the Word. Please help I've got close Christian friends that love the show that may be led astray by some of "artistic" takes the show has taken on Jesus and his character.

First you'd have to define Christianity as a benchmark to which to compare the LDS religion. Seeing that Christianity is tens of thousands of differing denominations, with essentially tens of thousands of differing gospels and therefore that many different Gods. Then where in this babel is Christianity to which to compare the LDS faith. It isn't there. Christianity is nearer to gossip about the truth, than it is truth. This is because all the many denominations are established by different mens interpretations of the Bible. The LDS religion was established by God thru Joseph Smith. All the Christian denominations will admit that they are based on their interpretations of the Bible. So they are not established by God. They say they get their authority from the Bible. The Bible is their God. They are bedazzled by a record. Joseph Smith didn't say that all the Churchs are untrue. God said it to him, and he repeated this wondrous message. Joseph Smith didn't lay an axe to the two thousand year old fruitless tree of Christianity. God did. And those who despise Joseph Smith, do so because he told the truth.

Well said! Augusto, I agree satan is in full control of THIS world and as the Word instructs, just for that reason we are to expose the false prophets (wolves) and share the Good News. We, in AZ, live/work w Mormons so this is more relevant to Jons flock. Some scripture that addresses this: Eph 5:11, Matt 7:15, 2Cor 11:13-15, 2Tim 4:3-4, 1John 4:1, 1Thes 5:21, Acts 20:29, 2Tim 3:5 to name a few. These false teachers are leading good intentioned folks right to hell, esp in this crazy world we must expose them and share the truth. Gods will!

Fair warning, pretty much everything he says in this video about Mormon beliefs, is wrong. Regardless of whether you agree with Mormonism or not, you ought to know exactly what it is you are agreeing/disagreeing with in the first place. And Mormons would disagree with just about everything he said about their beliefs.

If a religion is false, then nothing is more important than explaining how/why. False religions are just as evil and lead to just as much death as any other unbelief. Your priorities are broken.
