I often give to others and they don’t give back. My mom points this out every so often. But I can’t have the mindset of resentment or guardedness. God wants us to ultimately give ** nonconditionally.

I don’t know what to do when the people in my life don’t seem to be on the same path as myself. The idea of confronting them gets met with accusations of judgement against their life choices, and they don’t want to listen to actual reason because they want to be right in their own eyes. No one sees what I see, and I hate them because they don’t recognize truth about themselves or others.

I am really enjoying the book. I tried reading it several years ago and put it down after only a few chapters. I would never have picked it up again if not for Fr Gregory, Fr Jacob-Bertrand and Ascension Presents Catholic Classics. Even reading it now, if it weren't for the commentary I don't think I could make it through. That would be lamentable as currently the edges of many pages are littered with over 3 dozen Post-it flags marking passages I want to go back to when we're done with the book.

Why gloss over the fact that God created Adam alone, without Eve in the beginning? What's more we don't know how long Adam was solitary, it could have been as long as a year or more. Granted the nature of mankind was changed when Eve was created, but as can be seen from the narrative of Genesis this was not God's original intention.

Have you discerned this with a spiritual director? The devil can come in the guise of an angel of light. Be prudent and test every spirit that comes to you, but don`t spurn them altogether to very roughly paraphrase Saint Paul. And the spiritual life is not merelt about our own holinedd, but being able to be poured out like a libation for the purification of the world in imitation Our Blessed Lord Jesus Christ. The Crucified Son of God is our model. Does this which you speak of empty yourself, or board it up in a personal stockpile? Note: This does not count as discernment with a spiritual director, as I am not one, just a concerned brother in Christ.
