Not at all. I think even those who are married can be good at friendships when they meet people whose relationship with them equals the relationship of their spouse only in a different way.

You guys are the best. Some of your thoughts on friendship are good, but you might be overthinking this? You make some good points, but, I see friendship as a gift that unfolds naturally. But as I say that, I am thinking also, that this present generation doesn’t really understand what friendship is, generally speaking.

I’m in my 30s, single Catholic woman. I’ve never really had a good group of friends. I just found out my most recent group of friends have been going on trips and planned events excluding me. It seems to happen a lot since high school feels like there’s definitely something wrong on my end but struggling to find long lasting friendships especially with single women, my age. Any advice welcome

It would be interesting to hear some thoughts on the view of someone like St Therese who was very committed to avoiding particular friendships as a matter of spiritual discipline (friendship with Christ). These guys seem to just ignore, assume that's not a possible (possibly desirable) thing.
