Long videos for beginners. Short ones for intermediate users. I like both. Thank you ☺️

Maybe do longer videos and do a short video including all the important steps so that shorts gain attention and the full length videos will be there for those who want to follow along step by step, I have seen this sometimes on KZbin so you can try and see how it goes !

Hey guys! I just want to say how overwhelmed I am by all the response I got. Honestly I did not expect all these comments while making the video, that too in just a week. Got a lot of valuable and insightful suggestions from you lovely folks. Since more people are leaning towards the 10-15 minute length, you can expect more of those as usual. BUT, since there's clearly a demand for longer format as well for more in-depth knowledge transfer for more beginner artists, you can definitely look forward to some 15-25 minute or longer videos in the future! Also for the ongoing 1min YT shorts series, I'll be making a compilation video later with much longer versions of each video with much more detailed explanation! :D I hope I'll be to communicate knowledge better in the coming days. Thank you so much for all the love and support! 😊

I watch the YT channel art with flo and sometimes her videos will be over an hour long. I am not saying this is something you should do, but if I like the tutorial, I watch the entire episode while I follow her step by step instructions and even rewatch sections I don't understand. Please keep up the good work!

I personally love longer videos so I don't feel like I missed anything too crucial and to see how I can navigate the tools that are new to me but a simple Google search and stuff can fill in blanks. I like both, prefer longer

I would LOVEEE 30-40 min explanations on the stuff you do! The stylized pieces make sense to be short but for your more complicated pieces, it would be great if you had taken your time and gone more in-depth! :)

Hi. I just found you this morning and have been bingeing. I love your content. Will be happy with longer videos for sure. I don’t have photoshop but I find I can do everything in Procreate. Describing the brushes will be helpful in finding similar ones in Procreate. Thank you so much.

Uk....u are an artist ....and ur audience is also like urs . They come here to learn from u and to support....so i think it doesn't matter how long video is ....what matters is how much efforts u took to make that video and how many of ur audience learnt from it. U can literally make podcasts or chapters or lectures . Just opinion ok 😅✌️

10 to 15 minutes works best for me. I can pause if I need more time with something, but that time frame could also prevents dwelling on any one point for too long.

Somehow got recommended to one of your videos - Epic Landscape Process and got hooked. I'm a multimedia developer, so I have 7 years of experience working in 3D, web design, posters, photo editing, motion graphics, illustrations, but I've always got confused about how to create a landscape environment since I didn't understand Highlights and Shadows from brush strokes. I personnally love your Landscape videos' length as I already know how photoshop works but want to learn the technical part of the design process. Your explanation of your thought process is perfect on top of the sped-up video. I think beginners will have an extremely hard time following along though as most beginners need to learn where the tools are, hotkeys and explain what the tool actually does. But for more experienced people like myself, I think the lengths are perfect. Perhaps doing a bit of both will help your channel gather new people from different experience levels better and maybe organize your tutorial videos in Beginner/experienced category? Meaning that beginners will focus on explaining photoshop tools and creating objects from one of your landscape videos and experienced videos will just focus on doing the entire landscape environment? If your channel grows a lot bigger, then you could create two separate channels, which 1 does the more complex things and a second that is always referred in the description to learn every tiny steps for beginners. CGMatter is a great example of advanced 2 minutes sped-up 3D tutorials and explains in 45 minutes on his other channel Default Cube. Hope it helps and thanks for sharing your technics!

Thank you so much for your detailed response. I will definitely keep these points in mind. I am already somewhat implementing these. Making long extremely details videos for beginners and more sped up videos for more intermediate folks. So far the response has been decent.

Although clear and concise tips are useful to know exactly what steps to think about, real time is my favorite so my expectations can be more reasonable. Probably an even bigger reason, is that I retain the information better, the more time I spend with it :D

Hi, I understand your point and I think you can continue with 10 minute videos, but there are some who really want to learn and, in order to learn, you can make a separate channel with long videos, for example it helps me to I see your videos in more detail, but the decision is yours you are super cool and I appreciate everything you do, no matter what decision you make I will follow you :))

A beginner cannot follow up with fast process so he needs longer and explained videos(A slightly speedup flow should work). While more intermediate/advanced one may get the idea from shorts. I think both should do(or you can make a short for each long video maybe). It's just what I think. And you are doing amazing work man!

In topics like perspective, light and shadow, shape/structure, environment construction, anatomy, etc. I would like 20+ minutes tutoring because they are like lessons. I really liked that video in which you explained how to shade a sphere depending on the light. I would love for a follow up, with a cube, a cylinder a pyramid etc.. that video I don't even know how many times I've watched it because it's really helpful. You can do shorts and smaller videos showing how to draw a tree, a mountain or something else. But tutorials on the above topics they can never be long enough. 👍 And if you are too scared of loosing audience by making 40 min videos just split the video in 2 do part 1 shading a cube part 2 shading a cube. Hope this helps.

I don't know if you're still looking for feedback but I'd say do some long form videos and continue shorts like these from clips of those long form. You'll be able to plan the short form while editing the long form, saving you some time. All the short form will really need after that is audio. I really really like these super short "ARK HACK" videos. Honestly I think they're perfect. If you really don't want to make 2 separate videos maybe you should open with a one minute video presented as and overview and then doing a more long form video from that where you take your time and do a few examples. The only reason I can think of that people may not like shorter videos is that they can't get more "immersed" in the content before it's done. This option would give the short video lovers like me what we want while providing longer videos for others.
