Are my wheel nuts on too tight? Scx24

Quick example of how to tell if your wheel nuts are on too tight. This is on an scx24.

I have hex extensions and when I fully tighten the deep hex nuts the axles seem to lock up any ideas what that could be?

The nuts might not be long enough to bottom out before snugging into the wheel. I've heard sometimes filing down any "ears" on the extensions, can give the clearance needed. They're little notches sticking out where the hex pin goes in. I haven't had too much of an issue personally.. guess I got lucky. A local very experienced guy says he's seen it a lot, and recommended the filing part.
