I actually like the M3 as the whole body has sharp lines which kind of fits with the grille, but on the M4 it has a round body and then just boom a very angular and weird front.

@@0xESK1MO well it is, but the 4 series looks a lot different from the 3 now compared to f82 m4 and f80 M3. And I think the ugliest of them all is the normal 4 series as it has the grille in Chrome

To be honest, I kinda like the new M4's looks. The non M and M Sport looks meh due to the chrome highlight grille. The yellow and green make them pop. At first didn't like the new look, but it kinda grew on me.

Theo - to answer the main question, over the last decade and a half, BMW has been changing their lineup to accommodate the even-starting models as “coupes.” e.g., 1, 3, 5, 7 series are all sedans, 2, 4, 6 and 8 series are all coupes. Although it doesn’t make much sense anymore when they make four-door versions of said coupes.

Series 4 in BMW's lineup is an direct answer to Audi's A5. Audi A4's are a sedan version of the car and A5 are just coupe. Same with BMW where Series 3 is a sedan and Series 4 is a coupe.

@@Ren_1106 Even if BMW just tuned the 4 cylinder to some decent power, it would be much better(still prefer a German delicately tuned v8 or v8tt). The i series depends on the electric part too much, due to its "eco" purpose, which ruin the performance of normal engine. I still like its look tho, especially front and side.

The germans fell out of love with the cars, especially BMW. The M5 CS only exists to chase lap times and that shitty 0-60 number. Aaaaand then the Plaid beats it in both aspects. So if performance isn't the best, the experience should be, but because BMW chases lap times, that ruined the experience. Sadly it's not just BMW, it's the whole industry, maybe except the Miata and the Toyobaru

I love my f30 328i and owned e36 and e92. For a daily it is just perfect and still has the dynamics of the previous cars. It doesn’t have that analog feeling but it’s a trade off for everything else. But I also plan to get m2 for a weekend fun car

to your comment about the chassis types of BMW - the 1, 3, and 5 were always classic sedans, meanwhile the 2, 4 and 6 were coupés. for example take a look at the X-lineup with the X3M being the sporty six cylinder SUV meanwhile the X4M is literally the same car except it has the coupéish design. same with the sedans and M3/M4 series.

@BlackPanthaa I don't agree with you, and I will argue why, E90 M3 V8 S65, S63 BMW engines has terrible reliability rod bearings and blow up really quickly i'm saw how much racers replace that engine in race. I'm glad they still doing Inline 6 it's much more reliable, less fuel consumtion, lighter, faster. BMW inline 6 it's a tradition for 3 series and 4 series cars, so i hope they never change that tradition. BMW E39 last reliable V8

2 doors has never been better in any case. Aesthetics are better, making a car more beautiful and even then it depends on a person. But 4 doors is more practical and most of the time more comfortable for passengers to sit

If you, in most cases drive in the car on your own having 2 doors is so much nicer. You get a way bigger entrance so you can seat way more comfortably instead of wrapping yourself around the B-pillar. If you carry people of then yea its not a good idea. Apart from when you have a family, a lot of car the cars on the road you go past have just one or 2 persons in them.
