You're right: all the enthusiasm resulted in a backlash which is just as silly. NFTs can reference something useful, acting effectively as a software license. Web3 is needed, tho not super clear how to popularize and spread it (note progress of IP6!)

I agree. The adoption of web3 is a very big challenge. Especially since big tech doesn't really have any incentive to implement and support web3 solutions.

Is it needed? Show me web3 usage that cannot be served by what we have currently. Just because something is "completely decentralized" doesn't mean it is actually needed.
