Can you also do per LAN IP network traffic to/fro internet with this setup? That would be grand, since we have switches on the interfaces..

I've been a professional programmer for thirty-nine years. I evolved and stayed current. I recently had an interview where they wanted me to code up those Leetcode problems. I couldn't believe what was happing. They were not interested in my real life coding solutions and experience. I felt really insulted and challenged them on what was the point of these problems. Well I didn't get the job. They felt that my skills was not current. Anyway I'm not ever going to work full time for an employer or consulting company. I'm going to pull my own direct clients. Doing fix price contracts and freelancing. This is where I shine. I have deep industry experience and up to date technology expertise.

I know this hasn't gotten many views, but this solved a problem I struggled with for days. You can also set the gid in options as well, just spacing them with a comma (uid=1000,gid=1000).

Yeah I know this video is incredibly specific, but I knew for those who needed it, the video would hopefully save quite a bit of time. I'm so glad it helped you out. Appreciate the info on setting the gid too!

Hi Moss, thank you! Can you clarify if this is trunk-based development with the source of truth on the main branch, but a production branch is used specifically for production changes, assuming a CI/CD workflow?

Scrum is crap. Standup moved from its original purpose to a moment of reporting to the pm. Something not mentioned here is how retrospectivas are managed. many companies do nothing with the feedback they collect. I totally agree with what you said about how the interview process is entirely broken. It's sad

One question (also to the viewers of this tutorial): If the gitlab runner executor is Docker and in the gitlab-ci.yaml the image is python, where are the 'echo' commands ran? I would expect in the python container started by the gitlab runner but the python image does not have a shell, it is just python. Or my understanding is not correct? Are the 'echo' commands ran on the gitlab-runner VM's shell? Thank you.

So, in the multithreading doens't matter how many cores we have, we can assign as much as threads to a CPU as we want, right?

Do you need any background in math (Linear algebra and statistics) or Operating Systems?
@tech_with_moss
@tech_with_moss 2 ай бұрын
Operating systems knowledge wouldn't hurt to know but definitely isn't necessary. Background in linear algebra and statistics can definitely help you get through classes, especially ones in the machine learning specialization. I did not have a background in math and it made the program extremely difficult. So you don't need math but it definitely helps a lot

People are getting sick of keeping up with a constantly changing, unrewarding hamster wheel. I refuse to waste the little free time i have in life keeping up with all the arbitrary changes in tech and languages. I just dont care. I get 0 satisfaction and am completely burnt out to the point that i fantasize about moving into a cabin in the mountains with 0 computers, tv, internet, etc.....Not to msntion the fact that all of this "advancement" in digital tech provides little to no value to people it is mostly just pointless tools, frameworks, apps, games, etc.... There is more to life and humans are not built to be slaving away in cubicles solving pointless abstract problems day in and day out.

Great video, thank you for sharing the knowledge! Just a question, I can't find Y axis to set the percentile in my Grafana v10.4.2. Where can I find it? this is the query I'm using to capture CPU utilization from Windows exporter: "avg without(cpu) (irate(process_cpu_seconds_total{job="Windows Exporter",instance="Test Server",mode!="idle"}[1m]))"

Tech is actually very small population of employment. You got women, migrants, technology all taking jobs. People should go for industries hiring, not the industry their in.

Just a suggestion to anyone watching and wondering what to do next: Auto mechanic. Modern cars are complex things stuffed with sensors and computers. It's physically demanding work but it pays well and prospects are good (trust me, EVs will not make you redundant for a very long time).

I got chills as you just described every single aspect of my career in tech as a software developer for the past 3 years TO THE T. Even the layoff part 😂 I think the part that’s not talked about enough is the corporate greed. C level execs are making into the millions while the cost of living has skyrocketed so the generous pay we once received as individual contributors no longer pencils out. It’s very degrading, especially considering everything we have to deal with.
