NFTs are maintained by blockchain technology, same tech used for Bitcoin mining. Running the servers and computer power can be wasteful too. The reason brands don’t produce enough for everyone is because no one would buy it if they did. Look at Jordan 1 mids. They’re much more readily available, yet people don’t like them. Dunks used to be found in discount stores, but now that they’re limited people want them. Theory of induced demand.

Honestly shocked how this didn’t come up. Bobby knows this for sure. It’s interesting tech that could have real potential but he definitely just put up a weak straw man argument. Mostly filler tbh. Like you’re gonna prefer having an nft over a pair of sneakers cuz it’s too warm outside due to climate change? Give me a break. I wish Welty had been better prepared to make it a better debate. He obviously was skeptical but Bobby had enough knowledge to run the table. He just didn’t have enough insight to make it interesting. What a mess of an episode.

You can tell Bobby's been spending a lot of e thinking in the future 😄👌🏾 There'll probably be a time (in like 20 years) where you just buy a base shoe/garment, then buy NFT's that could be projected through it, which solves the issue of excessive fashion manufacturing. It would be sick for the colours to never fade, but then again having your whole wardrobe of colourways being on a memory card would be wild 😄

Fantastic episode! Here in India, the government has always kept the trade barriers pretty high when it comes to international companies entering the market. For a nation of 1.3 billion people, companies like Nike and Rolex have never singled us out as a major market and that always annoyed me, because it's hard to get most of the releases here (and when they do release, it's in extremely limited quantities). But I am slowly starting to feel grateful that we have this wall that's not letting all of the craziness flow in unhindered. I'm 35 years old and I've loved sneakers for as long as I can remember. Yet, my "sneaker collection" has a grand total of two sneakers and its been this way for a few years now. I'm finally starting to enjoy the fact that every popular release from the world of fashion isn't making a splash here on the scale it is in a lot of other countries. Bobby Hundreds is a fantastic guest on the show! Hope to see him on again soon!

I don't think bobby follows cars properly. The new tech in cars is very impressive. Adaptive cruise control - follows car in front and adjusts speed. Lane keep assist - will keep you within your lane. Voice controls - can say you're cold and the car will turn on heater. 360 cameras - see your car from birds eye view like a game. Self parking. Big interactive screens - can even play games on some of them. Plus a bunch of others. Most of which have only come out quite recently.

FOR ANYONE WILLING TO DISCUSS THE PURPOSE OF NFT’s PLEASE REPLY!!🙏🏼 NFTs are tricky…it feels like you’re buying something just to say you own it. In a the future if virtual reality becomes our new reality wouldn’t that suggest that history repeats itself ? Like in the real world someone could bootleg it, illegally download it, or just something as simple as a screen shot, repost and in some sense replicate it! Going off of Bobby’s comparison of crypto currency or NFT’s to game DLC…..I do see where he can see the similarities, but as a gamer myself I can say that these things are pretty much just cosmetics for in game use! Sad thing about DLC and video games is that it’s merely a trend that dies out when the next game comes out, and when it does all things that were purchased essentially lose their “value”. A good example for this would be Fast fashion, yeah it’s what everyone is wearing but as soon as the trend is over the pieces lose their status or even “value” and will be seen at thrift stores for about 80-90% discount off the original price! Basically what I’m trying to say is that, it seems as if NFT’s are a trend for the moment and as soon as the hype is over it’ll most likely lose its value!!
@disaogontos3 жыл бұрын
I got your point but we are talking about art right? The price is set by what people are willing to pay for it. Pe we had so many eras in art history and abstract was hype back then but people still buy it now because they like it, it’s not just a dlc thing, a game prop, this is something you can display on wall imagine if in 1/5/10 years, instead of frames you get LED screens where you can display your nfts and museums with nfts. It may not be a thing you are willing to waste money on but people find that artistic. Not talking about people that buy nfts to flip, because that is what it is, like sneaker game
