Are Organic Polymer Farms Good in Ark Survival Ascended?... Depends | Concept and Build Guide

This video is all the information I learned when trying to make an organic polymer farm. If you are playing on pve or pvp official you are going to need a lot of penguins to really make this thing shine, but I give you all the ideas you need to make my design or build your own. This build is different from attempted automatic polymer farms that were made in Ark Survival Evolved. The build and idea are a little more hands on using an oviraptor to collect the eggs and then you can store then, and this allows you to choose when you want to hatch your eggs to get organic polymer.

I don't have ASA so I don't know everything but if it is still a thing. Pro tip to save from org poly from decaying. If your at a point where you have a grinder and an Indy cooker you can cook up org poly and oil in a cooker and make soap with no decay timer They also stack better than org poly. When you need org poly grind it up as needed. Yes you will lose some org poly but if the timer is your biggest hurdle that is how you get around it. Have a great day.

So little known thing about the moschops... at least in ASE... its harvesting level bonuses are not just a direct application to its melee harvesting. What actually happens, is one of it's 3 attacks (i forgot which one) causes it to regurgitate whatever you farmed with it, based on what you have in harvesting levels. What this amounts to, is if you harvest a series of corpses, trees, plants in a row with the non-regurgitate attacks, then use the regurgiation attack when you are done farming, it just regurgitates the "bonus" resource thats been collected since it's last regurgitation, into it's inventory, even if it's not hitting anything. The reason you wouldn't want to use the regurgitation attack directly every time, is because of decimal rouding at low rates, particularly when you are only going to get single digit amounts per hit. You want that "bonus" to apply to the largest number you can create, to get the most out of it. My tribe use to do this to farm poly/tree sap (cold biome trees on crystal isles) to near slot cap on the moschops, unload it, regurgitate, and it's inventory would be damn near slot capped again instantly. We had a skiff built specifically that would hold the moschops safely out in front of if it, with a rider, and just fly right up to trees.

Holy wow. I didnt know this. I did notice that extra resources came later but never knew they came even if you wernt attacking something. I tested this out and it doesnt make it any better for farming org poly sadly since its just helping not lose resources to rounding. Thanks for sharing that though!

This potentially fits what I noticed in my evolved testing, that it doesn't increase the amount of resources received, but rather it receives bonus resources after the attack. So the number goes up two times. I did not consider using a regular attack and then finishing the session with the special.

Note that it works ONLY for PvP, in PvE you can't kill unclaimed babies.

The moschops (in past at least) has multiple harvesting options that give different rates. Maybe that gets you more.

Could you make it totally afk poly? Set the penguins up like floating breeders, the eggs drop onto a boxed incubated area.. aggressive mate boosted moschops/peligornis to harvest the babies? Maybe even an aggressive yuty if the aggressive roar also buffs the most your moschops/peli at the same time? And whatever the tames are that improve chances of twins triplets P.s maybe like the ovis the babies hp makes a difference to poly gathered Would be interested to know how much you would get per hour with this setup on average settings 1x offi or smalls

I was watching someone else do something similar and it seemed that he got a lot more poly from juvenile penguins than babies. I also heard or saw (can't remember) somewhere that if the unclaimed penguins in PVE die of starvation the pelegornis will harvest the dead bodies. Can someone confirm if this is true or not? If that is true, then you can build a tower with the penguins on top dropping eggs so the eggs fall a long distance, make sure the trough feeds the breeders but doesn't reach where the eggs fall, and have a pelegornis or 2 or 3 on wander and aggressive harvesting the dead penguins when they die of starvation. Hopefully most will have reached juvenile status before they starve giving more poly per. I would love to test this myself, but still saving up for a new laptop. Can anyone else experiment and let me know if this is right?

So I've experimented with this myself and I found that the penguins you hatch don't give u as much as in the wild unless you let the penguins fully grow and than use a really good club....I have an ascendant max club and I get 24 to 36 poly per grown penguine

one time I made a tek raptor farm with about 60 females and air-conditioners with an aggressive dire bear, it got me tons of materials but lagged the hell out of the server and they shut it down for a week before making tamed tek dinos give meat instead....

the tame limit is legit only for platforms/rafts, like ours says 30/250 but we have over 200 + dinos already. but we have a quetzal with structures on it which is why the tame limit isnt 0 and 1 unbuilt raft i believe on the map

Lol but yeah tame limit on official is only platforms and rafts. If you are on a server that does it differently you can make an alt account, ally it with your tribe and claim all the penguins to it so they arnt taking up your tame limit, and then leave the oviraptors in your tribe because they can pick up allied eggs.

Use a club to harvest them I usually average at 8 per penguin. The babies give the most when you use a bat to harvest them

I'm not sure why but the way to get the most polymer from a moschop is to kill the penguin then whistle attack target and let the moschops harvest it without you on it. You get HEAPS.

So far only tested with adult penguins, but moschops is getting more poly than pelagornis. Edit: continued testing results in showing that Moschops are way better when it comes to adult penguins, and Pelagornis are way better on baby penguins. Kinda weird.

I tried this back in evolved and recorded it, it's a giant clusterfuk. That's even after all the fixes. It's way way faster to just Harvest normally. But someone said if you drag the corpse to the Moss chops...

Why not test a capped ascended club? Clubs used to trounce the Peleg ornis for Organic Poly. Issue with organ poly on Island was that - it sucked compared to just slot capping hard poly.

Well im using quetzal with 2 separate rooms. Catching wild adult kairuku with Rhynio and putting them into one room, then all childrens into another room. Then im using moschops to kill adults and pelagornis to kill younglings. Thats the best organic polymer gain i know so far. Or just use doedicurus on Obsidian nodes at vulcano. On 2x rates it's like 200 obsidian per swing.

tame limit is 250. I tamed dodos and a saddled parasaur on an official and it was still 0/250. Someone in my discord said it only counts platform saddles and rafts.

its only platform tames and rafts that count towards the limit, raft =10 if u build on the raft it =30 etc. platform tames are the same. if you build on the platform of the dino it increases up from 0. skiffs apply to theh tame limit as well. its always been there since ase :)

It takes 15 mins to farm 2000 with a peligonis, you get 100 off of wild baby's on official. You would only need to do this if your server is aids
