Can you use that roof rack to lift the cap off the truck and then lower it down onto supports?

I don’t know that I would use that as a hanging point, but I am sure it could be used to lift the cap up short term.

I have a 2005 Nissan frontier with an ARE cap. It has the man door in the back, so you lose the tailgate, and it is a little taller than a regular cap. It's amazing for camping, but there is no tailgate to cook on. Now I see they make a hydraulic kit to raise the height of regular canopies something like a foot while at a stop. I think that is the route I would go I the future. I do like your Yakima mounts and have wanted to add something like them for sometime. Did you install those yourself? I am terrified to punch holes in the canopy. Lastly, I would add I wanted the canopy to transport my 3 dogs, however, it sucked in so much dust I couldn't in good conscience take them down any long gravel or dusty roads. I would open it up and dusty air would just begin pouring out.

That’s awesome that your cap is doing so well for you. We couldn’t do without it anymore. We had the rails installed from ARE, so it was prepped and ready to install the towers when we got it. We did install the towers ourselves, but that doesn’t require any drilling or anything like that.

Which landing pad did you use for your ARE cap?

LP1 for the tracks on our ARE truck cap, we have actually gotten a new one, and the Laps worked on the new one, so I’d guess it’s the same for all ARE caps. Let me know if you have anything else I can help on!

Do you know if the fold up side windows would interfere with rack?
@CajunMile2 ай бұрын
My brother has those windows and the same roof rack as I have and has no interference issues, so I can pretty confidently say that it does not.

Nice truck cap! How heavy are your bikes? That’s the only thing that concerns me about putting my bikes on tops heaving them up there. We currently have a fifth wheel so we don’t have that option anyway- but we are considering changing to a class A so we need to find another option for then bikes.

Bikes aren’t too heavy, easy to lift them up myself, hardest part is keeping the handlebars straight!! Love the truck cap and will definitely get one for future trucks. Thanks for watching.

You spent more time talking about the rack than the cap
@CajunMile2 ай бұрын
Sorry about that. Check out our first video on the cap for more info. We liked it enough that we put it on our F250 when we upgraded. Thanks for watching and for the comment.

Disappointing video.

Sorry to hear that. Since we upgraded the truck, I am about to update it for the F250, can I do anything to make it better on that one?
