The degradation of my Taycan battery over 3 years was substantial, with winter barely providing 240 km on 100% charge. The EU has done a great job in destroying the German and other EU/UK automotive industry. With Porsche raising prices substantially across the range to offset selling less cars, this will inevitably backfire. Be very careful Porsche not to destroy brand loyalty!!

That sounds like your car has issues. Mine at -15 at 100% has 350-380km of real drivable range of mixed autobahn and city driving

@@serju Thanks - Its since been returned. 330km on the gauge but reality 240km. You have a good version!

I have a 2020 Taycan. Barely any noticeable degradation to the battery. However, I haven’t charged it passed 80% except maybe 15 times or less if I needed to go long distance. In the winter at 80% I get 270 km and in the summer 380 km it’s enough for me to go to work and back always coming home with 45 to 50%. I do wish I had more range but when I eventually purchase the 2025 (if I’m fortunate enough) that will fix any concern. I had a 2022 BMW M4 competition cabriolet and as much as I miss that car - the Taycan is a much better vehicle- especially for my daily needs. It handles better and it draws more attention. There isn’t a day someone stops me just to pay me a compliment. I love it! I’m here for it ❤

Porsche just announced they are closing 60 of their 160 dealerships here in China. Sales are not good.

They'll be putting all their eggs into selling ICE cars in the USA. Smart move by Porsche. 👍🏻😎

The problem is that historically the customer has always dictated the direction of the car industry with their buying power. Now we have governments telling the car industry what their customers should have. So it's a case of who breaks first with the customer being able to hold out longer.
@douglasb.56012 сағат бұрын
The customer is always right. 👍🏻 When Europeans look at the USA booming in the next few years after dropping the Net Zero scam, the public will force their Governments to follow suit...let's hope it's not too late!

It wont happen in 2030 as we do not have the charging capacity or infrastructure in place. Also if reform get in it will be scrapped!

Porsche isn’t on top of their software and hardware, and there are many owners struggling with many issues. Their EVs are simply under developed. Add in huge depreciation and no real effort from Porsches to evolve the software, then it’s no wonder their sales are stalling. Customer confidence has been shattered. Plus I feel they are fleecing customers on EV service costs and the Porsche charging rates are a joke. I’ll probably go back to ICE for a fun car and a cheap EV for a daily runabout.
@mogsyman16 сағат бұрын
The governments determination to be rid of new ICE cars by 2030 simply won’t happen, maybe by 2040, but not before IMO. The bigger problem however is once the EV cars really start to roll, the Chinese will be the manufacturers of choice and will have the vast majority of the market sewn up. The thought in the meantime of using EV platforms for ICE is utter madness and a waste of money and resource, it won’t happen.
@douglasb.56012 сағат бұрын
I agree with 2030 never happening..but look to the USA..they'll be wanting more ICE cars and are Porsche's biggest market..with their coming cheaper energy they'll have more disposable income to spend on high end ICE sports cars.

Look up Porsche's patent for a six stroke internal combustion engine. FWIW Ferdinand's first car was an EV.

Just a wild guess, but Taycan production will cease... as brilliant as the car is! I cannot see the current version surviving. The name Taycan will also be retired too.

I have a Taycan and I’ll 100000000% be buying another one. I am part of a Taycan group of 60 people and we wouldn’t trade the Taycan for the world! You have to drive one to know. If you know you know!

@@Lifeisapartydresslikeit I have driven turbo taycan's and also 4S as a Porsche Approved replacement car. They are pretty good daily drivers... but they are expensive and lose their value super fast. It's just way more cheap to daily 911 if you drive moderately, as their value only barely diminishes. I can't justify buying Taycan in any scenario unfortunately.
@Lifeisapartydresslikeit8 минут бұрын
@@991.1c2sI can’t daily a 911. 😢I do 40,000 km a year. But I agree with you in some respects. I was spending $1000 a month on my 2022 BMW M4 competition. I spend $100 a month in electricity for my Taycan. It’s more than a win for me. I love the 911 too it just wouldn’t be worth anything in 5 years for me. I bought the Taycan at a depreciated value so I could care less about further depreciation. Cost per use is better for me on the Taycan just because I do a lot of driving. I actually wish I bought an electric car years ago instead of just 2 years ago- I’d have money in my pocket 💰

Amazing how the CEO kept his job(s) despite of huge failures which he and he alone owns. Just compare Porsche's share price development vs Ferrari.

Let’s keep in mind we do need more environmentally friendly solutions for life , so Porsche such stick to the plan, petrol heads can get great 2nd hand cars as you say and I’m sure we have in addition to our Taycan’s which are great cars!

Doesn’t make sense I agree. Best to keep the 911 and Panamera ice until the ban, plus as you say they can used. PS I recognise the road you were on-been part of my cycle training route for years.

I have doubt. If you NOW decide to develop a new ICE vehicle, it takes a few years to bring them to market (i would say 4 years are realistic). Porsche has now struggle with their cars in china. Do you think its a good decision to develop more ICE vehicles for a market which is dead for ICE vehicles in a couple of years?

Maybe there won’t be a bearing problem with ev cars too

Total balls...please do some research before making such statements. The USA is about to show Europe why Net Zero is such a huge error (based on false faked data...see Prof 'Hocky Stick' 9:34 Mann's recent loss in court!). I bet you thought recent 'medical interventions' were safe and effective as well! 🙄 Read the studies...don't follow 'the narrative'. 👍🏻

Hi. If they decide to go back to ICE really, they get busted on the market within 5 years! They don't have an other choice than to push the EV power train for all models! I love driving a 1968 muscle car with 7,5 to 8,1 liters V8! BUT! There is no future for any ICE car versions from 2028! Any legacy automakers who decide to hold on ICE in any form over 2028 will go down! ICE is dead! It's only a museum art driving on the roads today. If Porsche can't fix their EV problems in the next 3 years, they won't survive! The CO2 price is going up to about 500 $ per tons so your fuel is about 3,50 € per liter! Who drives ICE cars then? Only the rich! So the fuel stations will go down the next 10 years and some of them redesigned as charging stations... It's all over for ICE power trains... 🤷🏼♂️

Porsche's biggest market is the USA...who are getting rid of the Net Zero scam. If European countries persist on following UN's agenda 2030 for a 2050 Net Zero future we will have no industry...and lots of angry/hungry people! IMHO 2030 ban on ICE will never happen. EV's are fantastic for about 20% of people but are not suitable for everyone and will never (using current tech.) replace ICE cars IMHO. 👍🏻😎
