So just to clarify, the catch cans are needed because the oil in the portals is getting hot enough to expand that much? I'm just learning about these aftermarket portals (I'm very familiar with the H1 Hummer portals) and what they need to work properly.
@TrailMilitia4 күн бұрын
@@georgecarousos6735 that’s supposed to be the case. From going back and fourth with owner ls of portals and the companies it’s supposed to settle in once break in happens. I’m learning about them as well . I was shocked that they rose that high as well I will definitely keep everyone updated as we go.

@@TrailMilitia Thanks for the clarification....on my H1 if you sustain very high speeds (like 75 mph plus) you can overheat the portals. They were never designed for this type of travel speed since they are based on a military travel speeds. It almost sounds like the fluid in your units is getting aerated full of air bubbles and expanding too much. I wonder if a gear oil with a better anti foam additive might help. Looking forward to what you guys find out.

Is the oil expanding that much or is the issue these companies have no baffle blocking the oil from directly slinging in the vent holes?

Glad to see you got the ABS stuff figured out. Wondering if you think the added complexity of Werewolf is worth it for the cost savings. I imagine the $5k you save in retail price is also somewhat eaten up by taxes, shipping, import duties etc from Ukraine. It would be cool to get a real apples to apples cost comparison for a delivered kit.
@TrailMilitia4 күн бұрын
@@RonJacobsen1973 the 15k is price here in the US I believe shipping is like $500 bucks freight. The actual cost I would say is about 21k for 74Welds and 16k for Werewolfs I will make sure to cover it on the next video in more detail. This is a solid point.

@@TrailMilitia Sweet. A while back I remember seeing a Werewolf quote posted on a forum where the duties were several thousand dollars on top of the MSRP on their website. Since then I have kind of just assumed the true cost wasn't actually that different so it will be interesting to see where its at these days. Regardless, glad to see both brands holding up to all the miles

Can you speak a little bit more on why you wouldn’t run stock suspension and think you would spend another $5k on shocks etc? Is it just because your COG is too high and you need to lower it? Why else?
@TrailMilitia4 күн бұрын
@@XFactrAdventures yea that’s exactly why , my broncos shocks had tuning done and to compensate for the extra weight and height from my experience out of the box it’s too tall especially after tires.

@@XFactrAdventures I’ve seen it done both ways and by far a good shock package after the fact helps the performance of it all quite a bit.
