I have done many online lessons as a piano teacher and I also think they are definitely worth it! Even students that were unsure about doing online lessons thinking it wouldn’t be worth it, continued and realized the lessons were basically just as good. Even though there are a couple drawbacks, students can significantly progress.

I started piano lessons last September, in a local music school, under covid restrictions, wearing a mask, perspex screen between the teacher and I, etc. When we went back into full lockdown, the school gave me the choice of online lessons, or resuming the in person, I took the online option because I had just started and wanted to keep learning. So glad I did, because we're back in full lockdown, and we just don't know how long this will continue. There are a couple of drawbacks to it, but for me, it's definitely worth it.

I play the piano both hands reading 4 notes. I can also play chords with my left hand and reading melody with my right. Without anything in front of me I can’t play anything😔 and that’s my long time frustration. I dream of playing without sheet music.I’ve been watching youtube piano videos but can’t seem to have good progress. I just came across with your youtube videos. So far I can 👍 them. I think it’s not about just how you teach. It’s about your sincere intention to help. God bless you Sir! 😇

I want to learn how to play piano but I only have 2 years. So what I want to do Is start with easy songs and work my way up to being able to play pieces that are harder. What are your recommendations?

Considering of the setup I may have to do. I may just look into getting some lessons from the local music store. I believe they've been taking precautions in regards to safety. So maybe I can actually do in person learning. But, what about the apps you can use like flowkey and simply piano?
@PianoFromScratch3 жыл бұрын
That would be great if you can, full lockdown where I am at the moment. As for those apps, I think they have their uses but can’t really compare them to a personal tutor really, it’s comparing apples and oranges.

Im considering but my only concern is if I’ll progress as much as in class, if my teacher will catch my mistakes and the quality of the sound teacher/students. ... new videos coming?
@PianoFromScratch3 жыл бұрын
Your teacher should be able to hear well enough for most things, sometimes small dynamics are a bit harder to hear but you can certainly hear mistakes etc (as long as the connection doesn’t break up which does obviously happen on occasion) sometimes things are a little bit slower in a lesson but definitely better than no lesson at all. Yea new videos coming! Taking longer than I thought but nearly there 🙂

Have I completely missed the video where you tell us what your name is? It's driving me crazy. I call you 'PFS guy' because I don't know your name.
