It's always assumed that Queen bees manage the hive just like monarchs do: order working bees about and lay eggs. But what if you meet Queen bee and she stings you? One of the first things you might notice is that they're able to sting you multiple times! And Queen Bee will keep on living and completing her royal task after that. Would such a sting hurt more and how do you treat it?

As a beekeeper I can confirm that no matter how much you coat yourself in queen pheromone and wind up a queen bee, you can rub your finger repeatedly against the tip of her abdomen and she will never sting you.

This video is totally false. I’ve been a beekeeper for 5 years. The queen’s venom is more powerful than worker’s venom. Immediately after hatching, she finds all other queen cells in the hive and sting them. Also many bees can live for sometime after being stung by another bee. However if they are stung by a queen, they die instantly.. anyone who has ever been stung by a queen will tell you how much more powerful their venom is. This video was obviously made by someone who researched online information but didn’t verified the information,

I have a cousin who has friend's parent who is bee keeper for 5 years too, they teach me about the bees and im agreeing with you that this video is false. The parent almost died from queen's venom when its trying to switch it to other hive because the original hive got destroyed or smashed with rock by some kid, luckily the kid wasnt harm but the parents have to pay for the health insurance. I dont know how the parent got sting when it have protective gears on, but theyre doing ok now. The parent quit theyre job as beekeeper since he got trauma from the bees :(

When I was little that I fell into a bees nest. I got stung 26 times when I was 6 years old. When I was adult in my late 20’s that I got stung by a bee. I screamed being stung on the arm. Luckily that I’m not allergic to them. I have a fear of bees.

I’m 38 years old and never been stung “knock on wood.” I had a few close moments though. Now I spend a lot of time outside. I enjoy hiking and my job places me outside a lot too. 0:02 I've never been stung... :) Edit: 3 months later, I got stung. I was sitting on the grass when I felt a pain in my leg. I jumped up and saw the grass moving. Then, I saw a bee poke out of the grass. Edit2: The stinger wasn't stuck in my skin though... It was probably a different bug

Could have been a yellow wasp, some species are small enough to be mistakeable for bees, or it could have been a bee of a variety other than honeybee, such as a bumblebee. Because contrary to popular belief, only honeybees have barbed stingers.

The wings of the worker bees tend to fray after they have been foraging for a few weeks. Eventually they are unable to fly, and if this happens when out during a foraging trip, they fall prey to anything that will feed upon them, unless they die first to become food for scavengers, including fungi. If they are full of nectar, they are heavy and are more likely to be unable to fly, so an old bee may be full of food but still end up dying away from the colony.

Try armpit limp node, talk about pain, wife got the stinger out about 2 or 3 minutes after. Five minutes later had make a decision wether to go get Benadryl or trip to hospital. My feet started burning, neck got thick and lost half my hearing but no problem breathing or swallowing. Never had a reaction till then and haven’t had one since.

Not true the queen is not the only be that can reproduce. If the hive is queenless worker bees can lay, but only male bees “drones”. It’s natures way of caring on the genetics since the hive will die without a queen. It’s a rare occurrence, but it does happen when they can’t make a new queen.
