Are Randoms TRULY Bad in Outlast Trials: Winter Kills Edition

Here's a pattern I noticed - on Intensive, randoms are mostly competent and chill with few exceptions; but as soon as I switch to Psychosurgery, I get flooded by low-levels who die repeatedly and leave. Wrap your head around that, huh.

Love it when they play psychosurgery with no map knowledge and dont even know what or where the objectives are. I was in a 3 man party this morning. One was level 75, the other was a level 54 and I was a level 57. In my head, I'm like, okay, we have an experienced player (level 75 guy) in our team and another mildly experience level player in the team, we should be good right? Wrong. Level 54 guy was host and invited me to the party, said he's gonna put on psychosurgery for more rewards and xp. I've played psychosurgery a couple of times prior, but most of my time, I played a lot of standard missions to learn the maps and the objectives for each map. I haven't played them all yet, but I know most of them and know what to do. Anyways, the 1st mission we played was WK Fuel the release, level 54 guy ended up being dead weight to the team, he had no idea where the generators were or the gas cans. 2nd mission we played WK cleanse the orphans, me and the other level 75 guy carried the entire mission from beginning to end, doing all the objectives while this level 54 guy was trying to do an achievement "can't touch this" where he basically hid the whole entire match until the ending when we needed to escape to the shuttle lol.. Playing with Randoms is a hit or a miss in this game, either end up with a good team that actually help doing objectives, or you end up with idiots or lazy mfs that expect you to do everything for them. I also don't mind teaching people. But if you're going to put psychosurgery i'm gonna expect you to know a thing or two and to carry your own weight (dying a couple times is fine, but if you're dying 5+ go back to intensive bro and learn the mechanics of the game lol)

My personal experience, I've had really good experience with randoms, but evrey now and then I get the new players so I slap on heal rig and Double dose just to be safe

Randoms are... Random. I mean sometimes they absolutely suck (constantly dead, not doing the objective, taking forever to get to a place, etc). But I've also had like amazing experiences. Like I did psychosurgery 'pleasure the prosecutor' for the first time and it was like a huge grind. 2 players left during the trial but this one random stayed and we kept saving each other. We just barely got through but we really worked awesome together (s/o to u Victoria) In the end the people complaining just need to look at themselves, like I don't believe these people play good themselves every time. But I guess people will always complain about something anyway

I find randoms are either quiet and really chill and good or they run through everything and sandbag you die leave

@@Sokol2211 Atleast Griefers aren't in your mix yet, glad to hear there isn't many griefers in quick matches besides some new players unintentionally ruining the trial.. 😆

Negtive reinforcement bias. People are more likely to complain about negative experiences than to boast about positive ones to the public. They get a bad experience and want to vent on the discord. Randoms are random. Just like in any video game lol

Depends. In this game not really but have been with a few low levels who immediately quit upon getting themselves downed.

@@tobydammit6599 Yeah I feel like low levels leave when they die because they might feel like they are letting the team down even though they are expected to go down a lot regardless while learning the ropes

whenever i first got the game i played a couple trials with randoms and it was my intro to how slapstick the game could be lol it was great

I always play with ransoms and it usually doesn’t bother me and ends up being really fun. It’s a lot more fun when they talk

I always play solo because I'll 100% be the random that gives people trauma otherwise. Some of us just aren't very bright!

I mean if you are playing solo you must be doing the objectives and that is a glorified trait when it comes to quick play!

Hey, Merry Christmas man! This was a fun video as always. If you didn't already know, CandyRacks is a brilliant player who does flawless/no damage runs on KZbin. It's pretty cool that you got him as a random. :) Sucks that he ragequit, though. I don't recall ever doing that when playing with randoms. I take each one of my deaths like a champ! I'd be interested in playing with you as a "random", haha.

Yeah Sinner had let me know CandyRacks does crazy runs, I don't blame his ragequit too much, The Pouncer into A Witness and an Xray guy attack with winter kills happening.. 😭 I play with anyone on my lives which I do at 10PM every Sat GMT no ones required to talk I just give out my friendcode and play whatever people want to :)

@@Bluriate I guess it's understandable that he'd be mad at something unlucky like that. Maybe it's different for everyone, but personally, I only care about getting crazy runs in solo. When I play with others, whether it's with friends or with randoms, I never reset unless everyone on the team is dead. I just think it's kinda disrespectful to others to ragequit in the middle of a game, when other players can still save you. But hey, to each their own! :) Alright, cool. I might join you one of these days for a few rounds. I don't use a mic, but I promise I'll do plenty of communication via the in-game coms.

The randoms I get are extremely good. Most don’t have mics or at least don’t turn them on but their game iq is there

My experience hasn’t been bad with them but yes there is exceptions there are some griefers but it’s mostly just people who are new to the game and don’t know what to do and in that case you just need to be patient

Also, a question for you at 49:55. How did you not take damage jumping off from that window? I tried doing that before in several speedruns and always took damage for it.

@@Dashiawia I have no idea, I was shocked too after TAKING damage when jumping out the other times during the trial 🙄

@@Bluriate Yeah... I don't quite understand why certain jumps cause us to take fall damage whereas other similar ones don't (e.g. like the one in Empty The Vault). It'd be nice if someone can explain this in the comments.

@@Dashiawia From some quick tests, Its because we get prompted the interact button to jump through the glass. If you jump through the glass with regular vault button you will take damage.

@@BluriateThat makes a lot of sense. So basically, you can only jump once through the window without taking damage. Thanks man! Now I can finally use this trick in my no damage videos. :)

Two level 1 joined to me(level 40) at the first main trial. Turned out I was troll; two down at the exit, and I missed timing to throw stun, and all three died. That was my first failed trial haha. (Well, after that it wasn't happened again. Yet...)

I joined a random group in part one of winter kills and we played pervert the futterman and I won’t lie they made me laugh so hard they just having the best time of they life (they sent all the wax boxes down to ground level…..)

I have 200 hours rn and I played most games with randoms, and had truly bad randoms maybe like 3 times, the harder difficulty, the better teammastes.

I don't know if you know this, I was watching your escalation with only the jammer rig but you can use it on the Alarm doors to avoid them alarming enemies

Yeah I had a comment tell me about that, Its a great feature but I usually use those doors to run from A to B rather than chill near the door where enemies will be coming :)

I had mostly good experience with randoms despite one thing. Escalation, but this critic is not about them specifically. What's irritating me is the fact thet after first 5-10 trials people use to leave the match. That's okay, everybody plays as much as he wants to but that dosen't change the fact that I'm always staying alone without any chance to join somebody's else game. I think Red Barrels should add the option which allows you to join Escalation matches during the ongoing game cause now reaching even 10 trial is almost impossible with randoms.

Yeah I feel like people go into escalation just to have fun on some MKs that arent available during the event / weekly which ruins the experience for those wanting to get to/past escalation 10

​@@BluriateThe problem is that escalation takes too much time, i usually quit at 10 or 11,because i don't have more time to play. And doing like 10 escalations already gives good rewards

@@Thesuvification Yeah 10 is a nice escalation to get to and can help people get the ecalation 10 task complete, think we are mainly talking about the escalation runs where you get to like 4 or 5 and 1 or 2 people have left which will make getting to a lot longer than if you had full team still

wings are with 2 t-shirts I believe, and if i am not wrong you get them only during winter kills :) I personally really like the game but I kinda suck at it, so playing with randoms makes me nervous because I suck and I don't want people to hate me lol. That said, I don't play intensive/ psychosurgery

Yeah its cool it can do that though I use them doors to get to from Point A to B, I never stick around for the enemies to come to the alarm

Crazy they are acutallyt doing the objective because where I live its nothing but griefers. They stand in doorways, they take acids/gas and run away to be killed
