I had the Morryde IS and disc brakes installed. The disc brakes were game changing for me. They should be standard on all fifth wheels. Good video.

Bigger isn’t always better. I love the disc brakes and the next size up for the axles however. Too much spring pack can be adverse. Reason being. You want those springs to squat. If it’s to rigid it will simply articulate all the bumps in the road up through the trailer like a tuning fork. Other than that. Love it.

In my opinion, Disc Brakes is the best money you will ever spend on your 5th wheel. We had them on the Reflection and it was the first upgrade I did to the Solitude. I don't think I would have a 5th wheel without them. We also love our Roadmaster suspension system. It just takes the bumps so much better! We accidentally left a class of water on the island. 250 miles later it was still there and no water had slopped out. That could never happen with the stock suspension. Thanks for the review!

2018 we have performance Brake upgrade the axles and disk added. We had issue after issue with the left front axle bearing. Went and had the Morryde IS put on our Vanleigh/ Vilano. Wish we had done that from the beginning. It is absolutely amazing the difference in the ride. Such a smother ride back there and it makes me less tired after a days drive. She isn't doing the galloping girdies anymore.

Awesome video. So curiously enough I did nearly the same thing. I pull a TT (2970RL Grand Designs) We did the Roadmaster Slipper Springs and shocks ourselves. I had Performance Trailer Braking do the the axle upgrade with disc. Franky, I am not sure why Disc brakes EOH are not mandatory or at least an option out of the factory. Its a game changer. While we are avid part timers we do extensive trips from TN to Yellowstone then to Acadia in Maine. The mountains in Colorado and Wyoming were a peaceful experience with engine braking and reasonable driving . This system has been proven and used.I al looking to upgrade to a Brinkley this year awaiting an as of yet new unannounced model. If the Disc is not an option- my first call will be to Performance Trailer Braking. I suspect Brinkley will not offer the option but I ask every time we correspond (so feel free to help out and ask them to offer the option). Preston from Performance Trailer Braking came to the house and did the job solo. I had created a new bracket for an internal mount on the 2970 above and behind the wet bay controls works great! The team at Performance Trailer Braking is awesome! Always responsive and helpful. They have send me some extra bearings, races and grease seals (I manually grease every year and I prefer to manually do it -not zerk fittings) I got the extra bearings and races as a precaution for my travel kit. Probably overkill but thats how we roll. I would rather have the parts if stranded in the middle of nowhere. Can you do it yourself? Yeah probably but bending break tubing, 17 fittings and mounting the controller replacing the axles seemed like a bargain for the install fee. Plus they do it all the time. Not to say I could not do it but why? I liked the peace of mind. I will never pull a TT or a Fiver without Disc Brakes. Period. Consider the cost a prepayment of your insurance deductible if something bad happens. Love your channel not stealing your thunder- I agree with everything you said and simply reaffirm it.

Looks nice, we did the MoRryde IS and disc brakes system, yes it was high dollar. The Disc brakes were a Very Big deal. Love them. And Performance trailer people are very good people. Any Up Grades to the suspension is a good thing. And it is not a waste of money.

For sure. It took us a few years to finally save up and pull the trigger. For us it’s equivalent to say getting a new roof on the house or fixing your foundation. Something that as full timers for a long time now was just needed.

Yes on the suspension work. Pretty simple from what I understand and talking to other people who have done it. Etrailer.com is a great place to purchase and they have lots of technical help too. The disc brakes I’m not so sure of if I’d install that myself. Lots of running the hydraulic lines, installing the actuator, wiring and what not too. Probably a little over my pay grade plus I’d hate the feeling of towing questioning myself if I did my brake install correctly. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
