Are security wait times really that crazy at Dublin Airport? +Lots of waiting in line throughout DUB

Hi everyone! Some of you have been asking about wait times currently and when you should arrive at the airport. I just landed in Brussels from Dublin so I’m posting a video tomorrow about my experience 3 weeks later!

Im curious how quickly you can get through when coming IN to Dublin? Were visiting in August, our flight is scheduled to arrive around 5:35 and we have a bus ticket for 6:45 am. Im worried that Customs line will take too long.

I wouldn’t worry about that too much, it is tight, but I have flown in both from terminal 1 as from terminal 2 and just walked right up to security, never had to wait (if you have a UK or EU passport you can even use the automatic gates!) and that’s it… The terminals are pretty long though I’d say a good 10 mins before you actually get to passport control but walk fast and you should walk right up to customs. I fly in and out from/to Dublin on a bi-weekly base and never had any issues so don’t worry

you missed a place after WH smith 2:15 TAP AND BREW beside gate 105 it would of being open open so your not showing everything as it is

I will travel on 2/5 , roughly wat time i arrive at airport i m travelling outside EU and flight is at 14.20pm . Thnx

Hi! I just came back from Dublin and I must say, it’s as chaotic as ever! I assume you’re traveling Terminal 2? Terminal 2 (Aer Lingus, US Airlines and Emirates) I would say at least 3,5/4 hours in advance! For flights within the EU/Europe (with current wait times) 2,5/3 hours! So get there around 10:30 is what I would do! Waiting in an airport isn’t fun but neither is missing your flight! Have a safe journey!

I flew out on thursday morning just gone (april 7th!) my flight was at 11am, got there for 7am. thankfully the queues weren’t too bad, i was through security in about 40 mins. The queues the day after, i saw all over social media… my god.

Yes you were lucky and so was I! Took me about 30 minutes! I have indeed seen a lot of social media posts which scared me so you can’t be too safe! Good thing you got there so early! I’m flying out of Dublin again by the end of the month so we’ll see! I heard they got staff from Cork to come over to Dublin to help out! Big thanks to the staff of Dublin Airport for handling it so smooth back then!

I have the flight on 3 may at 15:00 pm, how early should I arrive??

It’s difficult to say as I only had to wait 30 minutes! But I’d say at least 3-4hrs instead of 2ish. Are you flying within Europe or…? I would say 3,30/4 hours as you cannot risk it! Better safe than sorry!
