Exactly. Cars are fixing a problem they created. "How am I going to get to the grocery store without a car?!" The singular only reason it's that far away in the first place is because of the absurd amount of space cars require, and the zoning laws that have been produced by auto-centrism. We could simply just build stuff closer together, within walking or biking distance, if we didn't have to allot most of our land to roads and highways and parking lots. Then maybe we'd be healthier. Walkable cities, bikes, and well maintained public transit is 100x better than self-driving cars, or tunnels for the elite, wait I mean hYpErLoOp. The answer is in front of our face and it's not EV's or Hyperloop or self-driving cars

In order for this to actually work, ALL the cars need to be automated and computerized. As you have already seen, all the human factors are the one breaking the system. You won't be able to have every single person in a country, or even in one city to have a car like this, unless we are planning to give them away, or with a super low price. Sorry, this will never work.

No, self-driving cars are not the future. There is too much to watch for on the road, they'll be too expensive, there will be too many lawsuits against the manufacturer when something inevitably goes wrong, and no one in their right mind would trust a computer with their life.

Self driving cars are a taxi....that's why people want them. so they can take a taxi...without having to pay taxi fare, which has to pay for a living breathing driver, raising the cost substantially....that's the whole point of self driving cars...
