A couple of my buddy’s make 110-120k a year here I will make about 105k this year and I only work 10 to 11 hours a day. We run nights. Most of the guys that make over 100k are nights at my state. Everything is 100% true. I’ve been OTR 6-12 days home for 2 or not even 2. I make more at R+L than any of the company’s I’ve been with

Just got my CDL. Not sure if I should go otr for a years experience so I can apply to a buncha local jobs. They all require at least 3 months the experience. Or go on the dock for the dock to driver program but, it could take a year for that to happen but it ensures I work at an ltl company .

Ran extra board there. Just left..management is horrible, communication is a joke, and they only cater to the favorites. Told me I would run every night. Went two weeks without a single run. HR is a joke in this company as well.

San Jose ca here linehaul drivers do make that much but they start at 7or8pm and usually are off by 9-10 am they work a lot of hours and run night some would drive from San Jose to Sacramento twice in one night and the other is running from San Jose to Fresno ca twice in one night but you do have to me fully endorse.starting pay $35.87 in April class A would go up to $36

Just got a forklift job at R+L they don’t pay OT which sucks. Haven’t started yet but it’s at the Ypsilanti mi terminal. Just added about 100 doors and new shop. Sadly they want you to be there a year before being eligible for dock to driver program. They’ve got scanners and computers on the forklifts so it shouldn’t be too labor intensive. I’d like to get my cdl and get into linehaul I don’t mind working nights and am no stranger to long hours. I hear great things about fedex freight but lots of dock work I believe. Getting a good hourly rate to drive the forklift but with no OT we’ll see how long I stay with them. There’s other terminals in my area within 40 miles who pay a lot of OT and are bigger companies hopefully meaning more opportunities.

I work for RL , running linehaul out of ALE terminal. Home daily. It’s a good job if you can sacrifice to get your seniority. They pay well but depending on the terminal you may get stuck with a lot of short runs. They tell you 72 cents per mile but each run has its own set pay. A flat rate. Plus 30 dollars stop pay( fueling, breaking a set) .

Seniority guys pick the best and longest runs and your left with whatever is left over when you run extra board. I thought RL would be a good fit for me until I was making 156, 192 a night. It may take years to get consistent good runs and i don’t think that’s worth it for me. This company will help you get your hazmat, they give you 60 days

@@brandonholloman4746 Pickup & delivery. Basically, you run a local route, maybe 15-25 stops. The stops could be either pickup or delivery. You'll drive in a large loop so as to minimize time & distance. You're home every day. It's stuff that's too big to ship with Amazon, UPS, DHL, USPS, like engines, gas cylinders, machinery, fridge, etc.

As a new CDL holder, if you don’t mind doing touch freight work foodservice will be one if not the highest paying job for you. Make anywhere from 75k to 90k as a newbie. Some probably make a little more depending on location.

@@TroyP20 all LTL companies are base off by seniority . Idk what state you in but I know P&D or Linehaul drivers don’t bring home $800 to $1000 a week. If so you’re area is slow or you not making any hours. You have a choice either work the dock to make up some hours or do Linehaul on the weekends if that available. According to these LTL companies you gotta start from the bottom n work your way up.

I work for R+L carriers out of LVE It’s a nice job I work Linehaul, the Night Shift can be brutal unless you’re willing to sacrifice the pay. Depends on the run that you do. I started recently, so my seniority level is low at the moment the longer you are in the company the better pay runs you will have And you can work 6 to 7 hours a night depending on The run which is not bad but if you want to make extra money PND in the dayshift just remember you will be working 12+ hours a day

Rl carries is the worst LTL company....hands down (Dallas terminal is the worst in the company) P&D is all junk freight the other freight carriers don't want. Lots of residential deliveries in 48' liftgate trailers , difficult management, strip malls, carwash, car dealerships, junkyards and when you finish your route dispatchers will send you a swap trailer. Top 3 list for me would be old dominion/Estes express being 1-2 at the flip of a coin, and then r&l/XPO would be fighting for the 3rd spot, just from hearing from other drivers on the phone. In our modern day economy no truck driver should be considering a job making less than six figures. It's getting more difficult to survive on less. Inflation is real. LTL industry pay with money too much. High straight pay no OT. High CPM low miles. You have gain seniority and choose the right location to make money.

Only 18% of individual Americans make over 100k per year according to Zippia. While I understand where you’re coming from in saying “no driver should consider a job making less than 100k” it’s just not logical for many different reasons. One being lack of experience. People with little to no experience in most cases will not be able to find a job making six figures. I agree inflation is real. However, becoming better at managing finances and really being intentional with how we spend our money can help combat inflation. Rising costs isn’t going anywhere anytime soon so the question becomes what can we do to help mitigate this problem? Control the controllables. Spend less on things that aren’t necessities. Get a side hustle to increase your income. Eliminate debt to free up money. I believe there are things that can be done from a financial perspective if we change our mindset and just take action.

Gordon's food is kind of the lowest paying one out of big companies and they run the 60 hour rule which limits? How much you can work and you guys don't get paid hourly throughout the whole region

If you really think I’m surprised by companies paying good money that confirms to me that my video Titles and or presentation is working. The 60hr rule also limits drivers from working too many hours and draining them to exhaustion. If working 70hrs a week is what a driver prefers then GFS is definitely not the company for them. BTW when you’re getting paid component pay you don’t need a ton of hours to make good money.

Their component pay is not that great. I work for them it's definitely less pay than US foods. Sysco and PFG and if you do get paid hourly it's only $32 and a dollar more if you have your hazmat the top paying trucking companies their drivers are getting paid anywhere from 35 to 37+an hour I know the guys at national DCP in the Northeast are getting paid 35.48 an hour work 4 days and make about two grand before taxes

I was working at Cisco in the early 2000s and I know we were almost getting and some guys who would work 6 days were getting 100k and that was with a component pay I'm just saying all this money has been around for years. You just had to find the right company and work hard. You newer truck drivers make it sound like it's a big deal all line haul drivers at the national Carriers. Basically make 100k. You can do PND them guys Can make 100k look into it. XPO is 37.15 an hour. Siai does 37 Estes does 35 and change? They all pay well they just all get paid overtime at different hours too. Some do 40 some do 45 some do at 50 hours
