I've always said it was the E-11 that was the issue as even Han Solo had trouble aiming it.

The helmet used also is the reason. Turns out having a "Goggle-Esq" visor is pretty hard to see down past the rather pointless "Nose Bridge" that is part of the Stormtrooper helmet. I mean, people have trouble seeing out of _masks_ that have a similar design... Imagine having a very thick sheet of armored material that is positioned a few centimeters or less from the start of one's vision?

​@@Victor-056 It's only an issue if the internal visor display stops working (like when you take it off without proper procedure, like all enemies do), otherwise it's more than fine, mainly by helmet providing targeting assistance for the (authorized) user.

@@Taron_HaiTarOr a Stormtrooper gets unlucky and has his helm systems fried by either an EMP, a glancing blow or a lucky shot from an opponent. To be honest, helms like those having to rely on the internal visor display for good vision isn't a good thing as it means the Empire is giving their Elite Forces weaponry and tech that forces them to rely too much on the local imperial divison, which means if they are stripped for replacement parts and/or resources, The troopers are boned. I mean, when you think about it, The Scout Trooper gear is actually the best model overall as once you take off the "blinders" that are meant to protect the wearer's eyes from the glare of the system's sun, it provides full uninterrupted vision while also providing ample protection, and _still_ retains the Head's up Display (or H.U.D) the Empire are so proud of.

Idk the core worlds openly accepting the empire and the outer rim having no military of its own and sheer momentum…the moment they faced an enemy organized army, they collapsed. So yes. They suck.

Its annoying how the lore keeps changing making evrything you thought about something irrelevant (last I checked 2/3 of stormtroopers were clones during RotJ and natural born humans only began to outnumber them after for example) Somebody did make a video about their accuracy by counting shots fired and reached the conclusion that not only are stormtroopers accuracy good, it's almost supernatural. I like to use the tabletop wargame as a guide to how effective somebody is which for the TKs gives us such things as; Armour: gives a fifty percent chance of being capable of combat despite recieiving an incapacitating wound. Accuracy: Largely dependent on the weapon used, if using the e-11 their aim is terrible but if using a rifle or other specialist weapon their aim is better. Plus they have a "precision" rule that allows rerolling failed shots.

ODST of the 105th Battalion here, from my experience I've learned that Stormtroopers are many things incompetent is not one of them hell I'd say that they are roughly on par with the stock standard UNSC Marine in all respects aside from firepower in which the Stormtroopers have a massive advantage over the Marines. The Death Troopers are on par with ODSTs the only difference is that for some reason Death Troopers are normally used as bodyguards instead of being used as conventional Special Forces.

It's not that Stormtroopers can't aim. Sure, the helmet design isn't the most practical for aiming conventionally but I'm sure it's equipped with a targeting feed that makes that less necessary. The real issue is that there are individuals in the galaxy that appear to be what are called "Main Protagonists". These individuals have what is called "plot armor", which effectively an ability to subconsciously influence probability in their favor, making them effectively invincible until said plot armor "runs out", which is the point where it no longer affects the individual. We have no idea what causes this and all attempts to study this phenomenon have been fruitless. This effect is most commonly observed when, upon opening fire on an individual that appears to be a "Main Protagonist", Stormtroopers will find that their accuracy has been reduced to an absurd degree. This also sometimes happens with TIE pilots firing upon a vessel piloted by or carrying a "Main Protagonist".

Ran a group of imperial storm troopers/ commando unit of multiclassing up to 12th-level. scoundrel/ soldier/scout at 3 levels each, and mix up with noble/officer or prestige class thrown in. Ran a few hack & slash shot them up games, easy fun Xp snack gains. Then a couple of tough clearing out rebel or smuggler cell warehouse locations. Follow with throwing in a rip off Darth Vader takedown using decoy and bait traps. No problems. Then what was meant to be a cake walk turn into one bad die roll after another, to a zhit show of Everything going wrong. Player one, " What is wrong with All the tables d20 rolls, even rolling 4d6 and everything is Still going south ! ?" Player two, " What is the description of the people we are fighting ?" Player three, " What, thats LEIA ! .. so this is what it is like going after an/pc with plot armor." 2.) Multiple games over different days, even with different players, make enough fun of Princess Leia being a Wookie, and the dice will hate your character. House head canon, .. on force skills/powers trigger in a .. natural way. a.) Get bully beat down and push up against an electric cattle fence or get tased by a c0p after a few months or couple of years of social abuse. ( darkside Force Lightning. ) b.) Up close slap boxing and strangle hold. ( yeah, that is Vader's force choke/crush. ) c.) What, you want to push & shove ? Well, .. F-U ! ( force push/ knock back or downward slam. ) Other systems such as Call of Cthulhu, World of Darkness vampire & werewolf has willpower points, or temporary wisdom points to when the PC lose self-control and goes into a panic or rage. When as an N/pc or as a PC the character of Princess Leia .. lose .. control, she has a knack of rolling 20 on a d20, or 6's on 4d6. Her force Crush/choke or force lightning goes to whole new levels. " .. then you have the exploding dice mechanic rules, of rerolling high die results." If you roll a 20 on d20 skill check, roll to confirm crit and add to a higher skill check result. Needless to say, Leia results goes past DC30. d.) We put together an imperial training video on the horrors and surviving a battle with Princess Leia from the storm trooper POV.

1990's WEG west end games d6 dice pool system Star Wars ? Or WotC 3e to 3.5e D&D/Star Wars with insane multiclassing ? Strom troopers go into an imperial outpost that just took a raid. They check the fallen soldiers' helmet cams to see who they were fighting. It was a human woman wreaking everything, she is wearing eye protection and smoke breather. Identity unknown. Long story short, your PC got killed by Princess Leia.

@@elijahelizalde4308 WEG system, and then dumb azzes that go on over about only gaining Xp or CP character points, in shooting the bad guys. D&D still has that same problem in gamming groups. Point being with WEG, you have the few pages explaining gaining/earning Cp and Force points during dramatic role playing. Needless to say, they are more power war roll gamers than role players. Business traders and diplomates gain their income and social status growth not by shooting problems. Then you have the section on skill training time, and the nonsense line about only able to grow in skill use when the PC has the Cp. Or the part of Cp speed up training times. 2.) Skill use, .. a.) Dexterity, attribute .. then skill ( pistol )follow with skill specialty ( 9mm.). or some made up setting syfy blaster/laser. You also had throw, rock, knife, lightsaber, .. etc.... soft ball. We ran a campaign like the Harlem Global Trotters, as a low gravity basketball team players. Made it to sector finals. Zero-G ball, mention in the comic " Baron Fel," and a few novels as background lore sport broadcasts. What was the section of gaining force points with an hour of mediation and attribute roll ? Tai Chi is mediation in movement, so is Yoga .. which is really nothing more than deep breathing and stretching. Practice Iai ju jitsu, drawing and sheaving the blade/ gun. Load gun, unload gun .. Pregame light jog .. 3.) TMNT, ... the d100% or having to break in down to roll under D&D. Run a skateboard park game. You are dealing with teenagers and the adults want quiet time. 15years later its Harry Potter magic into WotC3e D&D/Star Wars. The next set of teenagers.
