As soon as you see the rub sign is not applied to the figure, it's a KO. There many other tells, like the art on the box, the placement of the text, etc. etc. etc.

I got a ko g1 Optimus prime recently from Aliexpress, just before they announced the retro one. For a while I thought, hell, I could had wait a bit, and get the oficial one... until I saw that they want 91 euros for it... then I didn't felt that bad with the KO that costed... 35 euros and is an EXACT replica of the original that I had since my childhood, except for the quality of the stickers

I have that Soundwave figure that i picked up a couple years ago, the plastic that holds everything in the box is supposed to be clear, the Soundwave figure itself is supposed to be a darker blue, the gray parts are supposed to be metallic plastic, stickers are supposed to already be applied, all the stickers are supposed to be metallic, and the parts that can be attached to the gun part is supposed to be individually packaged in three separate spaces

The real G1 Soundwave had the decepticon emblem on his chest and a couple of stickers already applied by the factory for 1984, and for 1985 had the rub symbol on his chest. So them not being there already applied in a sealed box is a big giveaway that it's fake.

Hey, it seems that for the miles figure, you got the bad bootleg. For most bootleg figures on temu/Ali express, there are good bootlegs and bad bootlegs, good bootlegs are made by CT toys, usually have better paint jobs, stiffer joints etc.

i have a legitimate soundwave re-issue, all of the quirks yours has like the the cheap feeling switch, knob, hard to deploy hands and nub marks on the back are all on the authentic one. HOWEVER the stickers are like a foil thing, so if yours came with paper stickers its probably fake. Also that rub mark was probably supposed to go on soundwave's chest but it has no stick, I definitely agree with you though and yours is a bootleg.

The video is a bit of a let down tbh. There was an official Chinese G1 release of Soundwave, around 1990 and upon close inspection of the box, it would have been possible, however you jumped to a whole heap of these blind guesses as of you were starting from scratch with nothing, and ironically it made it impossible to use the metrics which are known and available, to verify if this is a KO, or actually leftover official release stock from the 1990s.

Soundwave is 100% fake. I could tell before you even opened the box. The grey border around the art is too thick, and there is missing text on the box. The yellow oval behind the figure art is too high, too. The silver outline on the faction symbol on Buzzsaw's head is too think, and as you pointed out, damaged. Also, real G1 Transformers do not come with the rub sign loose in the box (it should be on Soundwave's chest btw).
