I still haven't taken a deeper look at those cards, but that is amazing. I also love the random period in "Poisonous Gem" "Your opponent's Active Pokemon is now. Poisoned." Abta is still my favorite, but Glimmora is a new gem for the fake collection. Thanks for pointing it out!

I should probably clarify: I know what PVC is -_- Can't believe I have to say that lmao. Issue is, there are many types of PVC. The reason I brought it up is because a specific type of PVC was mentioned in an article about dangerous plastics, and their symptoms matched what I was dealing with. The fact that the product was also listed as PVC just happened to line up with that. Most PVC is fine, don't let this video make you fear the pipes in your walls 😅

Pretty sure the Eevee beanbag figure is official, but the text on it also says that it's specifically only for sale in China. I managed to get the Bulbasaur one years ago and it's adorable. But there *are* fakes of these, which I just think is kinda ironic imo

at 22:07 it's an official Chinese Pokemon product. You can tell by the reflective seal on the back of the box. Bootlegs wouldn't have that.

You could totally be right that it's official, but the holo seal is not a kicker anymore. People have been faking the holos on Magic the Gathering cards and sports cards for years now. I have a few bootleg cards that have fairly convincing holofoil stamps.

What, you don't remember Abta, Kadabta, and Alatazam? Nice to see not every cheap-knockoff on those sites is bad. My wife got me a pretty decent Gengar squishmallow from Temu that I enjoy. Shame about the resin-casted clear Gengar using PVC and being left to vent long enough before boxing.

Hey! NOT a chemist here! But I'm pretty sure PVC isn't a type of polyvinyl chloride, it's literally the initials of polyvinyl chloride. I'm sure you have PVC all around you at all times so I wouldn't worry that much. I don't know what made you dizzy, maybe the colors they used ?but you did well to throw it out.

I own that lil pokeball stand and I bought it from Amazon, that thing is fucking amazing. I can play in tabletop mode while it charges my Switch on my desk. I 100% recommend that to any Pokémon fans who wants to play their switch in tabletop mode. It works great!

Nah I know, lead isn't (too) bad externally. I also don't think lead paint was used on that figure, but whatever kind of plastic it was, the odor was god awful. Thing smelled like poison lol

@JunkSeeker fair enough probs polyester resin which from experience needs to off gas for a few days to stop smelling I'd imagine they probs cast it then put it straight in the packaging which'll hold all the fumes in it tends to smell like a plastic solvent smell

I don’t think it’s uncured, but that it was packaged right after curing so the fumes didn’t have anywhere to go.

I have that exact same eevee figure. Ordered mine from Amazon, pretty decent little guy and whether bootleg or not its one of my favorite figures just sitting looking cute in the middle of my shelf. Rare occasion I've found some knockoff/bootleg figures that would never be made legit look pretty darn good

Pokemon is now licensed in China (including cards), so most of the official stuff is made there now. That means your assumptions weren't unreasonable. Pokemon products in China are suprisingly expensive however.

Factories that make official products in china have little side businesses all the time. One time i bough knock off galaxy buds for 20 bucks. They ended up actually being unbranded galaxy earbuds and even registered as that in my phone meaning they most likely had access to samsungs firmware or whatever it is to allow that. Happens all the time and is very real if you find a "reputable company that just so happens to have a connection or 2 on the inside. I mean lets be real we all know china is the king of knockoff and production.

Therein lies the issue (or one of many) with buying anything from Aliexpress... it's flooded with stolen artwork and designs from small artists.
