I have been very happy with my continental tires ever since I got them last fall. I had to order them from a sketchy place online because they were out of stock everywhere else, but now we have a Brompton Junction that opened earlier this year and they keep them in stock. 👍 I was getting a bunch of flats on my old Schwabe racers, but I think that’s because they were just getting thin and worn out. After recently riding a loaner Brompton with Schwalbe racers while my Brompton was in the shop, I would say that the continentals just feel better, and smoother.

Me i bought contact urban last year Just After puncture of my original tyres, now it's already one year, nothing happened. Very robust tyre, highly recommended!🎉🎉🎉

Agree, agree! The Continentals are extremely durable. Ben only managed to destroy one within a year now and getting a flat 😁 I still haven't had one flat with my Schwalbe Marathons for 4 years now, and we mostly ride together 🤣

The first thing I did when I bought the T Line was to change to Continental Urban Tan.

Perfect timing as I’m just about to swap out the old for the new and was wondering about the Continentals. I’m sold on em now, thanks!

Thanks for sharing your experience on the Urbans. I still ride on the Ones but have the Urbans on standby. How do they hold up in the NY winters, I.e, in the cold, slush, and light precipitation?

That glass inside the tire is the best advertisement for anti puncture ever haha. I've been riding the same set of continentals for 2 years and somehow mine are still good too! Are you still using the tubolitos with these on the T-line?

Thank You. Here in Denmark we normally collect bottles in special containers, if not with a deposit, so they aren't that often met on roads. Finn. Denmark
@markymarknj15 күн бұрын
We do the same in the US-at least in my city. HOWEVER! However, when the container is lifted into the truck, the glass bottles sometimes spill out, hit the pavement, and break on the street. I would speculate that this is the cause of the glass that the OP talked about.
@finncarlbomholtsrensen118815 күн бұрын
@@markymarknj Just besides my Danish home we have a special closed glass container (4 small openings for bottles or items) intended to be lifted in a special ring on top, so no loss of anything during that! I honestly think they aren't reused but crushed to a powder as base for roads and the like! But maybe later eventually, as most special waste?
@markymarknj15 күн бұрын
@@finncarlbomholtsrensen1188 that's interesting. I remember something similar being done here in the US, i.e. using glass to make asphalt; they called it "glassphalt".
@finncarlbomholtsrensen118814 күн бұрын
@@markymarknj We have Firms specializing in reuse of ordinary standard bottles. And bottles with a - Deposit are clearly reused many times before being too worn for use. We have special Machines all over, able to collect cans and bottles and re-pay the actual deposit, from a "pant" badge on the items. It is an extremely effective system and if leaving a bottle or can with a Deposit, it will be collected at once by some!!
@markymarknj14 күн бұрын
@@finncarlbomholtsrensen1188 we used to have deposit and return here in the US back when glass bottles were a thing. It was a good system.

Are you talking about the "Continental Contact Urban" ? They also make the "GP Urban" it seems.
@BromptonROKАй бұрын
I was wondering the same thing. I believe they are. I have the CCUs (tan-walled) and the tread looks to be the same as his when he was showing the glass. They're excellent tires -- I'll never go back to anything else!

Yes, he featured the Contact Urbans in the video.

@@BromptonROK Contis ROCK! I run them on my MTBs turned ATBs; I run Conti Contact Plus City. I originally wanted the Town & Country tires on my bike, but Conti discontinued them. My LBS said that the Contact Plus City tires were the closest, modern equivalent of the old T&Cs, so that's what I put on my ATBs.

I have one question aside your subject of the day. Do you ride in the raining time? And did you try The Continental Urban Tires under the rain too? I used the schwalbe marathon plus for years and its ok, good enough for pieces of glass. Anyway I'll try one day the continental, cheers from Brussels!
@Alex-tv3qoАй бұрын
I ride the continental, they are way better than the M+ when the road is wet, but less flat resistant

Huh, standing against glass is nice, but in my place I much more often get flats because of acacia spikes, or those tiny adorable flowers, that grow extremely spiky seeds called Tribulus terrestris. It is possible to get tens of punctures at once. Truly evil weeds.
