If anyone is not in a position to buy a kindle, I recommend going to your local library. Many libraries have networks where they share books among a system and you can borrow almost any book for 3 weeks. Some libraries also offer ebooks for free where you check out the license for free. Don’t need to always buy and it’s still good for the environment 😊

I also think many states have digital libraries where you can rent ebooks to any phone or tablet, or even just read them on your computer. I can only speak for my state, but our digital library allows you to rent books from hundreds of local libraries across the state, & you just need either a library card with your local library or you can just use your cell number to sign up. It’s been really nice as someone who used to love renting physical books but was really bad about returning them on time… 😅

I almost never comment on videos but I had to for this - Thank you SO MUCH Carrie for doing these updates! So often people will glorify these items while they're still shiny and new and we never hear about how it actually holds up over time. I loved your original product testing and impressions content but the followup puts you in a class above the other reviewer YT'ers.

I got an award at work and had a small catalog of items I could choose from. One of the items was the Ember mug. I remembered your video, and your feedback about it made me not as interested in it as I might have been. I got a singer sewing machine instead, which has been a lot of fun. Being our guinea pig does help us make better choices for ourselves, thank you!

I appreciate the updates! Especially for pricier products, it's easy to get caught up in the hype/FOMO of things, but it can be a lot of money for something you're going to use once or twice and not be able to claim on your taxes. 😅 thank you for taking one for the team and also your continued thoughts!

I have loved my Hoka's for years and years. If they get dirty I just pull out the insole and wash the shoes in the washer - each in their own delicates bag and the insoles in their own delicates bag, then put them by the window to dry. Mine look brand new after I do that!

Hi Carrie! I'd love to see you test out Allbirds shoes! I've heard that they are the comfiest shoes out there, and wanted to see if you thought the same thing! Love your videos!!
@riabouchinska

I've had several pairs of Allbirds shoes over the past few years (the wool runners and the tree runners) and they are super soft and comfy and you can and should wear them without socks and I really love them BUT... they wear out and lose their shape and start looking janky after a few months if you wear them for hours on end multiple days a week, which I have done, including wearing them to work. Like the actual fabric stretches out and gets really thin especially at the toe of the shoe. So I would recommend them but it's probably better to try not to beat the crap out of them like I've done to mine lol. (Their underwear I would also recommend, and their T-shirts which they used to make in a bunch of colors but now they only have black, white and navy and I'm still salty about that! Like c'mon guys stop making like golf shoes and shit and put some of your resources into making more long-sleeved t-shirts in pretty colors) Lol that was a whole ass novel, I'm sorry, I apparently have a lot of feelings about Allbirds :P

Yea I agree, it's like a Yeti or Hydroflask mug style thermos, but with extra steps and bells and whistles. Even those name brand things are a fraction of the price. Though I wonder if for the Ember mug in particular, it's aimed at people who don't like either the texture or aesthetic of a lid on a thermos mug or both combined and have money burning a hole in their pocket.

I am not a fan of the Amazon fire but I used it when I first started going to college to have lecture PowerPoints and be able to add notes or highlight. Also to read on the kindle app, like you said it’s okay. I had the older version so idk how it is now, seems like the basic version now comes with lot more, but I found it really gimmicky and the battery, storage, and performance lacks really badly. If you can’t afford the iPad or actual kindle it’s an alright option, and it’s nice cause you can read at night and it’s lit Also surprised so many of these items are trending again considering these are things I used many years ago like 5 years to a decade ago lol

Mine are fabric, and they ultimately got really wet and dirty so I pulled out my insoles and washed them. They look great! The quality shows. The uppers have held up better than other brands I have worn. Definitely can recommend them, they are worth paying a premium for.

I finally got a kindle paperwhite a year or so ago and I go through spells of using it. When I have downtime with work I'm able to read much easier than trying to use my phone or a book. since i have some of the products I'm going to share some thoughts here, Hokas: they are fine sport shoes and I keep wearing them bc I like their style, but not gonna lie they're nothing like Adidas ultraboost or Nike airmax even though they were the same price 🙄 if you looking for better quality with the same price tag just get ultraboost.. Kindle paperwhite: there are no dupes for an e reader, you either using a tablet/phone or an actual e reader.. and it definitely worths the money if you like to read ebooks since it doesn't strain your eye as much.. best option in my opinion is the basic kindle, it has all the features you need and more portable size but wait for sales if you'd like to save some money

Hmm makes me wonder if Ninja conflated actual ice cream made in the og ice cream makers with a receptacle that takes ice and salt to hyper cool the mixture with gelato, because it looks like Gelato and not Ice Cream. I guess they could have called it Gelli (though I'm wondering if them not using that has something to do with Gelly Roll pens), but as a "just in case" for a copyright thing, they decided on Creami.

I love my Hoka walking shoes, but I have had 3 pairs now that wear out behind my heel and a hole forms that can cause discomfort/blisters. This has never happened with any other sneaker brands I have owned. I tried using a shoe horn so I don’t squish the back of the shoe down when sliding them on. This helped a bit, but now a little less than 1 year later I see a hole forming. Anyone else have this problem? I go on 3 mile walks about 4-5x per week in the summer here in MN (when I can actually walk outside without snow/ice) so they are getting a lot of use. Otherwise, so comfortable and super great walking shoes. Thanks for testing everything, Carrie! Really appreciate knowing what to buy :)

I had New Balances for ~5 years of everyday use, generally sedentary but walking to/from school and such. They also wore out in the heels. There was no hole that went totally through, but the back was torn and breaking apart. I think it's pretty typical wear (and it does sound like you walk quite a bit!). My only recommendation would maybe to see a chiropractor or foot doctor (?) To double check that your gait isn't causing the problem.
@PinkAgaricus
@PinkAgaricus Жыл бұрын
I have this problem too. I remember my Payless ShoeSource Lower East Side skate shoes (those really followed the skate shoe trend at the time) that I wore in middle school and they wore out like that. Wait in the outsole of the shoe or is this hole forming in the actual upper (inside and outside) of the shoe? As is stated though it's a similar problem, but with the actual sole of the shoe. Also I have to bring up are you lacing and tying it so that the foot isn't sliding around? (I ask this because I bet if people are having shoe problems with odd wear patterns, this could also be part of the problem, besides gait issues, since after we buy them we just wear them the way they were laced out of the box.)

Stanley girlies: do you find that your wrist hurts from carrying it around with the handle? Sometimes my wrist starts to hurt when carrying around my normal reusable tumbler, and I was considering buying a Stanley-style one but it seems like it may make the problem worse?

I wanted the ninja creami so bad but we dont have the space for a single use appliance. I do own a portable shaved ice machine I bought from japan. Its super tiny compared to single use things and you just put ice it and it makes perfect shaved ice every time. ultimate cheap low calorie dessert imo. also it's got mickey ears which makes its 100 times cuter.

Hmm I’ve never found an insulated mug that stays 140 degrees for hours, other than an ember like one lol. I work from home tho so can go to the microwave anytime but when I was in office the ember would have been amazing I bet! Instead of going two floors down to the kitchen haha
