There is no nation in the Bible called "jew" until II Kings 16.6. It is a made-up term concealing the true identity of ESAU who has stolen back the birthright. Circumcision is a rite of Judaism, not of Messiah. Read John 7. Messiah made a man "every whit whole" on the Sabbath while rabbis cut him up. Paul also exposed "the circumcision" as "jew". They have their own law - read John 10 and John 15.

This means they are not Semitic because to be a Semitic you have to be descended from Shem. Shemitic. I agree that being Jewish is a practice of Judaism, and not a bloodline thing. I agree that most are in the dark. And the "Israelite Identity" is not doing much to improve or spread knowledge and truth. The issue of Esau is easy if one would read Obadiah, Ezekiel 25, 35, 36. Isaiah 34.5 says that Idumea/Esau is the people of God´s curse. They have stolen the birthright. 76 years of counterfeit Israel. And most of the world as we know it is blind to this fact. Therefore, Rev 13.3 will be fulfilled.

The pedigrees for the twelve tribes and others are all laid out in the Old Covenant and are confirmed through the Law of Moses. For instance we know that Abram was born into a family that weren't Israelites. This is because they were known as Hebrews, a name which was taken from their ancestor Heber. It was only after Abram had his name changed by God to Abraham, that his wife Sarah had their Son Isaac who in turn begat Jacob. In turn God changed his name to Israel, and through this his descendants became known as Israelites. This was also true of Isaac's half sibling Ishmael, whose Arab descendants for centuries were known as Ishmaelites. It was also the same for Jacob's sons whose descendants would adopt their names for their own tribes. The Bible shows that this patriarchal system was followed by all the tribes that surrounded ancient Israel also. Up until the time of the Exodus the Law of Inheritance for the Israelites had been that if a man dies and has no son then the next of kin in the male line would inherit, this all changed during the forty years in the Wilderness. This is because after the death of their father the daughters of Zelophehad appealed to Moses on the unfairness of the Law of Inheritance, due to the fact that they had no brothers with which to inherit. After conversing with God on the subject, Moses announced to the congregation an amendment to the Law in question. This was that if a man dies and has no son then let the daughter inherit. This amendment was passed by God under the strict provision that the daughter in question must marry back into her father's Clan, so that the inheritance was not passed over to another tribe and have land which was allotted to them in the Promised Land taken away. This obviously raises questions with regards the fact that modern world Jewry reckon that they inherit their Jewishness through their mother and not through their father. On face value this appears to go against the Law of Inheritance set out under the Old Covenant by God. Even Mary the Mother of the Messiah complied with this amendment which was announced by Moses in the Wilderness by marrying Joseph. This is why Matthew and Luke have different pedigrees for Jesus Christ in the New Covenant, one is for Joseph and his cursed line of descent from Solomon, and the legitimate line of Mary and her descent from Nathan. It does seem strange that the majority of world Jewry today are from the Ashkenazi Jews, I say this because under normal biblical circumstances this could suggest that they took their name from an ancestor called Ashkenaz who in the Bible was descended from Japeth son of Noah. This would then indicate that they belonged in the main to the same group as Turkish stock, as given in the pedigrees in the Old Covenant. Historically the Khazar people of the Caucasus region who adopted Judaism were of Turkish stock also. Modern DNA testing on the y-chromosomes of males from both world Jewry and Turkish people have shown that the majority share the same haplogroup J in their male line ancestry. On the sons of Noah and their descendants listed in the pedigrees of the Old Covenant, it has always been claimed that the descendants of Japeth populated Europe and the British Isles, whereas this might have been true in the first place, DNA testing of indigenous male lines in this region shows that this is no longer the case. This is because research published in 2015 by the University of Leicester in England, on the Large-scale recent expansion of European patrilineages shown by population resequencing. This research has proven that Iron Age tribes from the East commonly referred to as Celts invaded Western Europe and the British Isles, and basically exterminated the majority of the male lines (descendants of Japeth?) that had lived there previously. Their research showed that the majority of indigenous male lines found in the British Isles today descend from a man who was the first to carry the mutation R1b-P312/S116 on his y-chromosome. The University of Leicester gave a mean time of 3320 years ago for this man's era. Haplogroup R1b has also been found in small amounts of the indigenous male lines from the Middle East region. Just like Christianity, Judaism is a religion and not a race. But according to the Law of the Bible any member of the tribe of Judah should belong to a subclade from the same haplogroup on his y-chromosome, which descends from a common ancestor with a mean time of approximately 3800 years ago.

Interesting last comment about Jesus as a pure-blood Judahite. What is the definition of pure- blood? According to the Bible, Judah, son of Jacob (Israel) married and had children from a Canaanite(Hamite) wife, also from Tamar, his daughter-in-law, another Canaanite. There were also other Canaanites in the ancestry line of Jesus and the tribe of Judah. According to the Bible, eight of the 12 Tribes patriarchs either married Hamites or had children from Hamite concubines. The Exodus comsisted not only of the descendants of Jacob but a large multitude of Egyptians and others who followed Moses and many were absorbed into what became the Israelite nation. Their leader, Moses, a Levite, married a Hamite. I could go on and on but i think my point is clear. The idea of pure- blood as it relates to descendants of Jacob is complicated. I think you have to factor in what is meant by God's directive against marriage with foreign women. Was it only about spiritual contamination (worship of false Gods)? Was it about blood contamination from certain tribes, (inhabitants of giants) those in which every living thing, humans and animals were destroyed? The Bible records multiple examples of Israelite marriage to foreign women which was allowed and sometimes directed by God. Judah was not likely to be brown but of aramaic skin tone. When the Bible speaks from the Hebrew prophets and scribes of Ethiopians the reference is not of the modern nation of Ethiopia but of the dark people of mainly sub Saharah. Therefore there was a noted difference between lighter skinned Herbrews / Arabs and the darker Ethiopians. It would be highly unlikely that Judaites are dark skinned unless they intermarried with Ethiopians, which is possible. There are coptic "jews" in north eastern Africa which go back to the Queen of Sheba who was overwhelmed by Solomon's Kingdom and "converted" to Judiasm. Solomon's own statement of his love for a dark skinned woman in Ecclesiastes infers that he was not dark skinned.

The only reason that Paul could have held Roman citizenship & was given authority to haul Christians out of the Synagogues in Damascus was because he was of the Royal Herodian family & he held much clout & authority within Rome....Further As Rabbi Tovia Singer lays out, the Priests in the temple at the time of Christ were not Pharisees, but Sadducees...and had ZERO AUTHORITY to grant Paul any permission to do anything in Damascus in their temple.... 11 Salute Herodion my kinsman. Hi, The apostle Paul was not against Circumcision of the flesh nor was he against anything to do with the Torah. He stated that it will come back into operation in the millennial reign of Christ. Acts 21 states that he performed a Nazarite command & made sacrifices there. Yes he may have been a Edomite, but that's ok, but he wasn't. He was a Benjamite. He stated that. To say he wasn't puts the new testament into disrepute. What it was that some say he was an "Edomite infiltrator" ( I heard this before) was that he told the disciples ( those who are saved + followers of Christ) that the law was not to be kept. We have to look at time, place & situations with Paul. He was correct! The other apostles had it wrong that the law was to be kept by the "Messianic Jews while the Gentiles needn't. If it was good for the Gentiles not to, it was good enough for Jews as well not to keep it ( both are the bride of Christ, not Israel) the Council in Jerusalem was in Judea ( Israel) the temple was still in operation, so they did state the above. There's no problem with eating meat sacrificed to idols as we know there is no such thing, but for people who haven't arrived at that conclusion, it's best not to eat around them. Jesus stated eating food sacrificed to idols was in conjunction with fornication and the worship of the above. Two different things. Before I say this, we can all misinterpret & assume something false when it isn't, but please be careful when with this belief about apostle Paul because its not true.

@@heavenswindsong Hi, Yes , I've studied in great detail about the Torah & I was involved in Messianic Judaism for around two years( a false religion!) Matthew 5:17 was the whole law, including the commands of the Pharisees( Matthew 23:2) as Jesus Christ was a Judean operating in Judea. This was the intertestamental or the interface between the Torah & the the new covenant. Jesus Christ was advocating the Torah for the Jews only. He wasn't speaking to the Gentiles as it didn't apply to them. The gospels are not the new testament, although it had "flashes" of the new covenant, but still old covenant. The Torah was & will be Israel's constitution in the land to be obeyed only be the Israelites as was & will be the Sabbaths The new testament began on the last supper and was ratified on the cross, which abrogated the Mosaic system ( the old covenant) for both Jewish & Gentile believers in Jesus Christ. The body of Christ is not a physical nation but an international spiritual nation residing in the heavenly temple ( spiritually) which cannot heed or obey the Torah " if an Alen or foreigner approaches the the tabernacle, he shall be put to death ( which has not been repealed within the Torah, though the law, now, is not applicable) As Jesus stated the whole law, you cannot have one command & leave the others, as it was a seamless indivisible whole which cannot be separated. This is the Mosaic system in which the Torah in Ezekiel 40-47 will be new covenant only in the land of Israel. Also the Pharisees were descended from the Edomites later known as the Idumeans, but I don't believe apostle Paul was one.

Just saying. Paul is the only one saying to not obey the Commandments, to eat food sacrificed to idols and to not be circumcised. Seems pretty contradictory to me. I am, however, aware that I may be missing something, I just don’t see it.
