Thats what I loved about the original. In a way, despite it being very exaggerated, it felt the most realistic to me. And this is coming from someone who literally was homeschooled all her life until one day we moved and I wanted to try out public school; needless to say, I related to Cady on extreme levels (besides the living in africa part lol) The fakeness that Regina George oozed in the original was perfect. I’ve always seem the trope where the mean girl is blatantly mean, and I feel like there’s nothing new in that. Its interesting to a see a girl who poses herself as a girls girl but completely degrades other women behind their backs with her friends. And of course because shes rich and pretty, everyone worships the ground she walks on without realizing she’s totally side eyeing all of them. Matter of fact she wouldn’t even take a glance at them😅. Its a shame, Renee Rap is a good actress and I would’ve loved to seen her as that type of Regina, but c’est la vie I guess.

Actors make their characters. Without Rachel McAdams, we wouldn’t have the Regina we know and love. This is a new take on Regina (based off of the musical) and it’s a new Regina. New Regina is more vicious and that wouldn’t have happened without Renee Rapp. If Renee believes Regina is gay, she is because Renee literally created this version of Regina.

I'd say that other creators, such as writers and creators, have more to do with creating a character than the actor. Lots of people worked together to create this Regina, not just Renee. Another reason that her word isn't the end all be all of the character is that no matter what anyone at all says about a character from a movie, if it isn't in the movie (or other connecting media such as a TV show) then it isn't canon and therefore for fact.

y’all it is a remake of the musical, in the musical regina is mean, right out mean, her range in the songs also show this. the movie enhanced the darkness of regina in my opinion. i think it is a good adaptation of the musical which is not the movie, bc even the costumes in this movie look a lot like the musical. for instance the black body suit in world burn in the musical is shown in the movie, Renee Rapp also played regina in the musical tour 😁

The outfit that has that corset and those pants hardly flatter her and I get the idea but she needed pieces that made her body look amazing as it is. That corset made her boobs drag low and looked horrible and the pants were just offset by the top, if she had a different top that complemented her body I’m sure the outfit would have looked great. What do you think?

@@sparrow.mp3 im not saying anything bad about her body, I love her body, im actually trying to say that they needed better clothes to flatter it the way it is. Most people agree that the clothes didn’t flatter her at all. It’s like you wearing a shirt that doesn’t look good on you that makes you look off. I personally hate unflattering clothing that takes away from the natural figure (this is excluding baggy clothes that are supposed to be baggy or oversized)

I dont mind her outfits being cheap or untrendy. What i do mind is them *looking* cheap and untrendy and fast fashion. Some say that the outfits in the original weren't actually the trendiest pieces of the time, but that's actually an asset to her character because it shows that she STARTS the trends at her school. They could have easily modernized the wardrobe without cheapening it.

There’s only 3 gay characters (and one isn’t even mentioned to be gay) and they never even stated that Janis was straight. Damian has always been gay. Janis was probably also gay in the OG and Regina isn’t even stated to be gay in this remake. So don’t be so dramatic

but the musical doesn’t really look like this either. in the musical, the costuming is more modern, but regina still sticks to pinks and light colors, and has the same preppy aesthetic. yes she wears pants and a leather jacket, but the jacket is pink and the pants are white. she’s not edgy or “cool”, at least not in the way the movie costuming suggests. it seems like the movie took what the musical started and pushed it to the max. whether that was good or not is up to personal preference, but i can definitely see how some of her original character has been lost.

What's the point of being a Plastic if you're not plastic? They're supposed to suppress and override their personalities, acting essentially like a cult, and a cult member is one to the hole, not their own person. Yeah, she's the leader, but she is as susceptible to the rules as the others, it makes no sense to have her not be the overly pink girly vomit amalgamation that was Y2K. i kinda understand the change in outfits and style. the original movie was set in the 2000s and the girls wore what was in trend at that time. the new movie is set in the 2020s and they are wearing what is in trend right now, which you can see in the outfits. now if we look at the actual musical, it's set in the mid 2010s and we can really see that in the outfits (they are really 2017 musically era lol). i do agree that they could have done better with renee's outfits, considering she's playing the queen bee, but they're not THAT bad either

I feel like it’s really updated to be more appealing to the gen z audience. Og Regina’s style is very accurate to the y2k style and new Regina fits more with the style today. And her style isn’t more androgynous, it’s just that what’s considered feminine has changed since the hyper feminine y2k style. And as someone who is currently Regina’s age I really see the appeal of her new outfits, much like how millennials saw the appeal of the original outfits.
