Palm Islands are true engineering wonders. There are lots of discussions about them sinking or not. Are they really sinking? Let's find out!
The Palm Islands are true engineering wonders. Constructed off the coast of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. There are three main sites: Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jebel Ali, and The Deria Islands.
The artificial islands look magnificent from above, but they possibly hold a secret between them. There’s a chance that the artificial islands are sinking. Surely, mother nature is only reclaiming what is rightfully hers, or is this caused by a planning oversight in a rush to create the artificial archipelagos?
Let’s have a look at what may be causing these man-made islands to sink.

What a contradictory mess. A survey team says they measured 13/64 inches (5mm) of settlement per year. The authorities deny this, and claim there'd be cracks and broken windows forming. Then the video goes on to say that the authorities say there has been less than 25/64 inches (1 centimeter) settlement per year, which is well within natural limits. So they admit to higher levels of settling than the surveying company measured that they claim is wrong. How does any of this make sense? Can't make heads or tails out of this video which claimed settling, then denied it, then claimed even greater settling. I've learned nothing.

13/64 inches (5mm) is the sinking rate. 25/64 inches (1 centimeter) is the point shift rate. So, what the authorities basically said is that NASA can't measure a 5 mm sinking, and the structure had less than 25/64 inches (1 centimeter) point-shift/year.

You don’t need to be an engineer to know that the built up sand aggregate in the ocean isn’t a permanent substructure to inhabit infrastructure like roads and housing. It will melt like ice cream over the years. Even a rock wall built a couple hundred meters out from shore has tremendous movement bcse the subsoil underneath is sand! So if Reclaiming land in flood zones always end up in disaster, the ocean is a complete disaster ! What is happening on our planet is scary. We will all be slaves to the elite if we don’t stand up

I visit the Palm Jumeirah a lot and it's beautiful , and as long as they continue to maintain it, which may include replenishing the sand as needed, it should last well into the future. I really hope in the long run the island will be ok too, as it really is an amazing beautiful place, but maintenance will be so important.

I build models such as these and other kinds. there are always something to maintain in projects like this one. the fact people don't see sinking and cracks yet is because the geographic location on the land and sea. dubai is located not on a sea but a big Harbour. the downsize of such a project is water being stagnant. and purying effect of the water. one would need constant water flow and sea floor marine life. it looks amazingly well built but there is no room . people satcked up like potatoes and tomato harvest. ideally the developers wanted to create wealth on these lots. it's a never ending tax collecting revenue on property.

What a problematic and chaotic plan. 1) Regarding the palm, solar power everything. 2) Treelined streets with solar power covering significant portions of the roadway or at least covering bicycle pathway, or at least shade cloth like the Saudis did with the 250 sun shades for pilgrims in Medina so people and plants can survive and/or not be miserable. 3) Solar powered desalinated water. 4) Every roof is solar powered. 5) Don't build the islands at sea level. 6) Do one project correctly before starting the next one. 7) Move the dirt used to create "the world" to the other Palm or crescent projects 8) Put plants on the land until building happens.
