There’s some nuance to this that you’re not picking up because Cornes makes you emotional. He doesn’t think them having two ruckman was good. He was saying/implying that… they made a bad decision and therefore made your bed (by buying another expensive ruckman), they would have just been better off to just accept the bad decision than to stack another bad decision on top of it by letting him go to a top for contender rival for a bag of chips…

Sydney made some ruck trade blunders: Nankervis was traded to Richmond so they could keep Naismith as their first ruck. Naismith was delisted in 2023 and is now playing with Richmond. Congratulations to Sam, he has overcome 3 knee reconstructions. Wish Sam all the best but Sam and Grundy as a swans ruck duo would be leading the competition.

I agree with what he is saying. He is saying that they needed to be tougher at the trade table and not let him go to a key competitor for almost nothing when they don't have a backup to an ageing Gawn. They needed to either get more for him or keep him to give Gawn an easier season so that he can peak for finals. BTW I don't support either of these teams so I'm not being biased. I thought it was a steal when the trade went through last year. All Australian ruck for a bag of chips.

Parker is still an essential part of that midfield. Is the Landcruiser of that midfield so the rolls royces in Errol and Chad can do their jobs. Rowbottom is picking up on where Parker left off but Adams is more of the same. I guess he's more a role player in this team now. I think our midfield without those 2 is more dynamic but with Grundy's tapwork, I would love to see Parker do his in and under work with an A grade ruckman

Sydney's initial ball movement was good, but both teams really fumbled the ball. Can't blame the conditions, this was really an ordinary display of skills. Cornes seems to not mention reality, for example. The players managers have alot of control and if they want a trade and if they don't cooperate then the next player that is with the same manager won't let a trade happen, or God forbid they try take other players from the club that they have listed.. think something similar is happening with a certain player manager and freo atm.

Melbourne lost mainly cos they used their sub, and then in the blink of an eye, bowser went off. When ever you see this happen, most of the time the opposition capitalizes on their rotations instantly, and the game gets away from you, and you don't have the energy you need to win. If they had the option to keep Grundy, and gave him away, the that is extremely silly. The funny part about it was, Grundy began running to the right places as a center half forward, and then they didn't play him after that. He shows the first sign of promise that he belongs at CHF, and then dumped him for finals. I think what might have happened is, they rated him based on being not fully fit. And didn't rate him. The problem also is, Melbourne were the best midfield in the comp with Brayshaw in the team. But with him out, they come right back to the pack. And now I rate them around eight midfield in the comp. Grundy and Brayshaw is a double whammy. It's really good to see two defenders come through. McVee and Howe.

The AFL need to cease what Grundy was doing in the ruck immediately. It's the type of football vandalism that the Swans employed when they won a flag by lying on the ball in 2005. They are an eyesore on the competition.
