Choke is an over used word in AFL Sydney have an incredible advantage in playing a home ground that a centre clearance can deliver the ball deep into the fwd line with a single kick... So their game style that gets them perennially into the finals simply doesn't stand up in the last game of the year... I agree. If Collingwood & Carlton don't do it now, they will have missed the boat. Their top players are ageing at both clubs. Carlton have maxed out their Salary Cap & if they falter again they will be looking at the abyss. Collingwood has so many potential retirees Zimmer-frames & Incontinence Pads are part of the medical equipment. If the Swans don't win the Premiership, then Longmire's tenure should be finished. Under Horse, the Swans have lost 3 GFs by huge margins & are being called the Perennial Bridesmaids. The underwhelming GF performances are just one issue. The game plan is the main problem. If the run doesn't come off, the Swans are opened up like a tin of Baked Beans. The so called experts are blaming the backs, they are uncoordinated & don't work together well enough but that is because there are too many mids in the backs. But the main problem is the mids & forwards who cough the ball up far too easily through lazy or Hollywood handball & kicks. Longmire's team has under-performed & is wasting the huge talent at the coach's disposal. Dogs, have to win it or Beverage will be looking for another job. He has the list & has improved the list even more, even by losing several players. But I think there is still dissent there. I don't think he would be an easy coach to play under. Port. Last Chance Hinkley. Don't win it this year & Kenny is out the door. But it is not going to be easy & I think he has Buckley's & none. His list is ordinary. Who will be his Key Forwards? Lord & co, the young ones, don't work hard enough. The old ones are only just good. Marshall & Georgiades don't work hard enough for long enough. Houston is gone. He will be sorely missed. I think Ken does not rate Finlayson at all. I think he is the third tall they have needed but Ken insists on making him into something he is not, a Ruck. Leave him in the FP & let him get ball & he will hurt the opposition. Make him do extra goal kicking at training. Saints; They don't have much of a list & nobody wants to go there. Battle is a huge loss. Demons; I think the cultural problems go to the top. More players will leave in 2025. Oliver isn't the main problem. If you look at Smith you can see they have been battling a major problem & covering up for years. There was a bloke with a huge career ahead of him that wrecked it by taking drugs. There is discord in the playing group & unhappiness with the management, up to and including the board. The fact players avoided Melbourne during the Trade Period is a good indication of the ills there

When you are creating this this you are not making it so that everyone gets a pass. It is what they need to achieve to get a pass. There will be teams that will not achieve a pass in 2025. I agree that 6-7 teams pass should be prelim final+ Swans, Lions, Blues, Cats, Port, Pies, Bulldogs. Finals add in Saints, Crows, Freo, Suns, Dees. GWS’s turnover of list I don’t think will see them in finals but you could still say a pass mark is finals. A pass mark will not be achieved by all clubs but they should be achieving that and if not it is a down season.

The Cats list is not as good as some of the other teams. They are a great club with the best coach and get the best out of what they have but to win it everything has to go right. They almost got there this year and it came down to a Max Holmes hamstring. No way they lose that Prelim if Max had not gone down, he was the best player on the ground up until that point. Even then they were in front with 2 mins to go.

Cornes keeps saying the Dogs have a fantastic list but has he even looked at it? In the last few years they've lost Lipinski, Dunkley, Bazlenka, Macrae and Daniel. Replaced by who? They've got players who are VFL level getting games every week. Bramble/Khamis/Vandermeer/McNeil/Coffield/Harmes/Scott are barely AFL players. Then there's old Liam Jones who will be 34 and got whooped by a teenager in a final. Duryea 34. Libba 33. Treloar 32. These guys can only get worse.
