Dante Ratto So? Jordans Bulls did it, Birds Celtics did it, Magics Lakers did it, LeBrons Heat did and many other teams. If the team wants to be one of the greatest they have to win back to backs at least. And they can bring most of those guys back if they want to and the players wants to
@DanteRatto7 жыл бұрын
And those weren't the same teams between years either. You're conflating 'team' with what people normally refer to as a 'dynasty'. So yeah, the Warriors will need to win another 2-3, at least, before they can be considered for the best NBA dynasty.

Draymond Green is the key to the Warriors success. In my book he is the most valuable two-way player on that team, which has been key to their dominance. Hypothetically speaking if I'm an opponent and was given an option to remove only one of the Warriors players then I would pick DG and take my chances with the others.

The Spurs would have pushed GS to at least 6 or 7 games with a healthy Kawhi. Kawhi was on fire, and they didn't have an answer for him. Spurs would have took game 1, and probably would have taken game 3 back in SA, and they could've been up 2-1 on the Warriors. This would have been a close series.

Did Skip seriously bring up the first game of the season, like that actually was supposed to matter? Um, hello, they had just added one of the top two players on the PLANET to their team! So I guess the 110-98 meltdown IN SAN ANTONIO, on the second night of a back-to-back after playing IN HOUSTON the night before, WITHOUT the aforementioned player, didn't happen, right? Stop it, Skip. San Antonio probably would've won game 1 had Kawhi stayed healthy. And yeah, they probably could've stolen a game at home. But that's it. Kawhi IS the San Antonio Spurs. You're not gonna beat a healthy Golden State team with just one player (ask LeBron). This Golden State team is the best team I've ever seen, and I'm one of the biggest Lakers fans ever created. When you have the greatest shooting backcourt of all time (Steph and Klay) combined with one of the greatest scorers this game has ever seen (KD), and you add Steve Kerr, who's learned from two of the greatest coaches ever to walk the sideline (Phil and Pop), you have no choice BUT to dominate. Neither of the teams Golden State faced in the playoffs last year had a chance, INCLUDING Cleveland.

They're good because of the current system of "raining threes" and low physical play in today's game. The 95-96 Bulls and even the 99-00 Lakers were better, tougher teams. The Golden State Warriors have a combination of lucky to be playing in an era where players are super protected and physical play was basically removed, and the second part of the combination is shooting talent in Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. In today's system, the Bulls and Lakers teams I mentioned would be even deadlier, because nobody could touch the players, they would easily score 120+ points a game. You can't say they are the best team in NBA history. Maybe top 10.

lakers1234 The Spurs had a chance. KD disappeared when Kawhi was on the floor and started trying to act like a big boy when Kawhi got injured. With the way LaMarcus and Pau were playing, if they could have kept that momentum, Spurs in 6 maybe 7. Especially when both benches are on the floor, the Spurs bench completely destroys the Warriors. That means KD or Steph have to be on the floor at all time. (Klay was garbage the whole series) Fatigue would have took a toll. That's the problem with top heavy teams like Golden State. Even the Cavs bench can put up 15 while LeBron, Love and Kyrie are out. That's why I think if the Spurs were healthy, they would have won and the Warriors won't win the championship.
@igogorilla6437 жыл бұрын
With kawhi it goes to 5-6 they were still heavy favorites they were down 23 for rust not because they weren't better they were like 30% before their run started yet they are supposed to be much closer to 50% the spurs would've lost with or without kawhi please don't pretend the warriors would've lost, Aldridge was only great for the first game which is one of the reasons that the lead ever became a lead. But seeing that he was inconsistent for the rest of the series like he always is the warriors would've made short work of the spurs with kawhi in 5-6 😴

NBAbram L NBA was trash back then. Players from now stats would be higher if they played back then

and? What teams back then would be able to guard the perimeter and 3 point shot? Lmao. The Warriors would shoot any of those teams out of the gym.
@nets4life3777 жыл бұрын
NBAbram The only reason the played that hard was because they weren't talented defensively. All those expansion teams and unathletic players back then would have no business in the NBA right now. The pace in the early 90s/ 80s era was faster so some might argue players would score more.

Down 26 against the Spurs halfway through the 3rd quarter isnt getting tested? They played in some tight games against Portland in the first round, particularly - game 1. Utah played hard although the end scores wouldnt reflect it.

Alfredo Izg With Kawhi on the floor the Spurs out scored the Warriors by 21 but when Kawhi got hurt the Warriors out scored the Spurs by more than 85. That more than 100 point difference. Don't tell me Kawhi wouldn't have won at least game 1 if he didn't get injured.

The Cavs will literally be the first piece of adversity for the warriors. It'll be interesting to see because usually a team that's battle tested and faced adversity usually performs better in crunch time aka the Cavs.

here is my 2 cents. the match up will be insane, both them are great at offensive and defense but i have to give it to the cav. leborn match with KD kyrie match with curry (we seen him lock down curry before) kevin love match with Green (KL can get his shots and green can defend) this one i cant wait to see Thompson(cav) will have to battle with zaza and mcgee (zaza is more physical so we may see tech like crazy) klay thompson ( he isnt playing too good in this series but he can get hot) is a x factor and jr smith as both are x factor or wild cards. but here is the difference why i said the cavs will win, there benches are different in deep. cavs have the advantage. because every bench player for the cavs can play elite once one of the big three or on the floor. look at deron William he came back to life. and the cavs have three players that can really play defensive off the bench. golden state worriors have there work cut out for them. if we did this by maths THESE GAMES MIGHT BE DECIDE BY ENDUR=ANCE FOR THE GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS AND PATIENCE FOR THE CAVS

Warriors have 2 MVP's and 4 All-Stars. it's no surprise of the 12-0 record. this has been the most boring NBA playoffs I've ever watched. no competition at all because the league is allowing all-stars to team up

Skip being so wrapped up in the "how will they close a tight game" thing seems to want to forget that A, after the warriors blew that lead to Memphis at home in January, they never blew a lead like that again and we saw them have to win a tight game and there was no issue. Steph ended up taking the shot. Game 1 against San Antonio. He remembers the injury and blown lead but seemed to forget the warriors won by two in the final two possessions. Also, c'mon. Did he really think that because they came out sloppy and rusty on game 1 they WEREN'T going to win that series? 99% of people and analysts were picking it to go 5 maybe 6 in the warriors favor.
@vincentwilliamson92557 жыл бұрын
Love how Skip says "There's no competition in the East" then says that Rondo's Bulls and Waiters' Heat would've challenged Lebron. It's the same exact thing in the West the Warriors would've been challenged but there were injuries!
@HardcoreGamer1015087 жыл бұрын
So, which Cavs player do you think the Warriors are going to injure? My guess is Kevin Love if he's doing as well as he has been the past few games.

NBA should adopt the lottery system. The top 2 teams from each conference are set teams with home field advantage while the other 12 get put in a lottery. Would be more interesting for sure.
